Hey guys, first I want to say I love this site and am glad to be a mbr now. I kind of screwed up. I haven't done a project in awhile. I did a PFTek I think they call it. The substrate was brown rice flour and verm. I thought I had let everything sit long enough. The cakes were totally white all the way around and complete on the bottom. I popped them out and soaked them for 24hrs. I TOTALLY forgot to roll them and put them in the FC. They've been there for 4 days now, and appear to be fine. A little fuzzy but I think ok. If ANYONE could please just let me know if I just blew everything and need to start over. Or if there's a way I can salvage this. Thanks in advance for any help. :) I attached a couple pics

A bit of a NEWB and kind of freaking a little

Welcome to 'Topia!
When you roll those in verm trim down the foil a little closer to the size of the cake and let the moisture rise up out of the perlite.
Looking great!

AWESOME! Thanks for the help guys. I also just got a little pump today i was just "burping" it 3 or 4 times/day for air flow. Also do I need a light like for reptiles or can I just use led light. Alot less heat. I was doing like a 4 hr light cycle. Lastly how long should I leave them dunked, and does anyone know a good way to clean the verm without putting it in the oven. Gotta be a little lokey.

Sorry to reply again so fast. I wanted to make sure I have everything down. Resoak/roll/back in FC/wait... I think that's the gist. I left them in the jar for over a month. I thought when the mycelium covered the whole thing it's ready. So if I put them back and don't see any activity for 10 days or so it's still ok tho right? Assuming they don't get some kind of weird mold or turn colors or something.

How long should I resoak before I roll in Verm. Is there a way to clean the verm without putting it in the oven?

Are the mushrooms anything like cannabis where the strains have curtain criteria in the grow houses?
What magical fungi was your first successful harvest?

Looking good!
The verm will darken as it absorbs moisture which is a good thing!

Awesome! So now just wait for some pins. I give them about 4 or 5 hrs of light a day. I was thinking about increasing the lighting time. IDK. It's hard not to get impatient... :)

Go ahead and give 12hrs, it can't hurt. Wait, what kind of light are you giving them?

It's one of those ambient lights they use for aquariums. I also could use just a reg led bulb. It's real bright white but doesn't produce much heat. I've been using the first one though. I've had them set to like 5 hrs of light. Should I increase it?
