Just wondering what the forum members think of this flow hood.  Would it be good for someone who has no tools and can't really DIY one.

Cheers!

I'm sure that you could find a cheaper one than that. Hell I can think of about 3 members that would build you one for cheaper. You're VIP start a thread in the marketplace, maybe someone has a used one.

This is a little cheaper and does the job nicely:

Of course, you can save some $ by building one yourself. Sometimes paying someone who is already good at making them is well worth the investment.

That's in USD and I'm not in the US, so freight charges would be crazy.

Maybe hook up with other left coast Canucks? I'm sure that once you connect with other fungi enthusiasts, it'll open up a bunch of opportunities, ie used equipment, lab space, etc.

I've met Danielle, she's awesome.

Take a look at this:
http://www.fungifun....nglish/Flowhood
If that seems at all do able it'll cost you probably half to build one vs buying it.

There are a number of fellow Canadians around and about. I'm not sure Danielle is still on the West Coast at the moment but I could be wrong about that.

The west coast does have some very strong Mycological societies in both Vancouver and Victoria that are worth checking out. I wouldn't out and out say you're looking to grow Psilocybe but if you smooze, make friends and keep your eyes peeled you'll figure who in those groups are similiarly inclined ; )

Feel free to shoot me a PM.

Looks like it would be fine. But I prefer horizontal flow to vertical. I know you can use vertical hoods but you have to be more careful with hand placements and organizing everything so you don't put your arms over anything.
