I'm big on Jazz/Rock fusion but the recommended album doesn't quite scratch my itch. Can't say why.......

Here's something completely different. It has video that's worth a look but I'd recommend listening while working or reading. It's perfect background music or what I call passive listening as opposed to something you'd really tune into and try to dissect or understand

I have zero regrets about my choice of wife but wouldn't it be awesome to have someone in the household who could make music like this :)

Been diving so deep into this album lately. Only 25 years late.

Directly influenced sponge bob, this voice is probably Mr. Krabs.

At the same time they were making a country album and indirectly pissing off Nashville. I always leaned towards country. The nautical prog album is no joke.

The artwork was done by Storm Thorgerson.

Dean Ween:

We knew we had to have amazing artwork to go with this record. It’s gotta be fucking consistent with all the craziness on this thing. We thought of Storm Thorgerson from Hipgnosis, who did Dark Side Of The Moon, the Zeppelin records, and all the Floyd records. He went to art school with those guys. We went to the best, we asked for the best, and Elektra coughed up the money. When Storm heard the record, he personally called me and said, “I didn’t know such a band existed.” He had done a Cranberries and a Phish record recently in the ’90s, and he just delegated the shit to other people at that time. He said, “I’ve found the band with the spirit that I like.” He was so into it, and all the calls came directly from him. He amended his contract to say, “I want to do everything, and I won’t charge anymore. I want to do every poster, every ad, any promo CD, single, picture discs, whatever.” If you go back and find any print adds associated with The Mollusk, all the artwork is unique to him.

For the cover, he said, “I want to make an amalgamation of all these fucked-up sea animals.” Storm and his team went to an aquarium and took all these photos of bizarre sea creatures. He drew them by hand or painted them, so it’s neat. I have these big mockups of his process.

If I ever open a Ween Museum, those will be prominently displayed. We toured in England, and after a gig in London, I think he was with his son or Harry Waters. He got so drunk and must have kissed me 50 times. He said, “You guys are the band. You’re the rightful heirs to Floyd and Zeppelin.” It was the highest praise, and it was real! His assistant said, “You’ve got to understand. He hasn’t seen a show in fucking years. He thinks everything is shit,” which is basically how I feel with age. The record really vindicated us; to get that reaction from the old-school meant so much.[12]

While recording Quebec, Dean Ween got word from his roadie that Carlos Santana's guitar and equipment had arrived at a nearby storage locker. The band broke in and illicitly recorded the guitar solo for this song using Santana's guitar and amp, laying it down in less than ten minutes.

So there is a new Genre of Music.(....ehhhbullshit) called Vaporware, Barber_beat or something.

Sounds like EDM beats and jazz to me, but what the HELL do I know.  ;)

Anyway, It has a good rhythm and is well executed.  I'm cleaning in prep for some interior painting and this is resonating well with that endeavor.

I like it. Given full editing power I'd find  drum tracks that didn't sound so much like something being done in somebody's garage but that's just me being picky

I swear the more I listen to this kind of thing, the EDM ever so slightly seasoned with something else, that all the EDM makers are in a panopticon and watch each other make music all day. It all has a very same-ness to it.

Doesn't stop me from listening to it

But you're right Green One. It's peppy background music for the works that must be done.

Need any painting advice? I am The Man.

The old rotten hovel is in dire need of painting.  I pay poorly but offer primo whiskey and tequila and green dreams a-plenty.

(Sigh)  looks like I'm Picassolito this time around compadre.

So, Miles Davis and a very well done early foray into "tripping" music.   I assure you this was the

right stuff for the ear when Sandoz was in town and out-a sight man.

One more while I'm still here.  Every note is a groovy little melody.  Most jazz players do some melody with a lot o'noodling and scales.

This dude just fricking JAMS.  Enjoy!

Edit:   OH, you said advice.  Funny I didn't catch that at first.  I was more than ready to enlist a volunteer.   :)
