I have been reading but wanted to be sure of what is going on here. If any experienced members feel like chiming in.
Pretty sure mycelium doesn’t blow up like this overnight.
But also pretty sure cobweb doesn’t start this thick.

Trich most likely.

Either way, I would get that guy out of the FC ASAP before it turns green and sporulates.

Had assumed so. The whispy stuff threw me a bit. I isolated it already

Perfectly handled.

When in doubt, always sequester a grow.

Good catch.

It’s ok. I’ve read a bunch on it already. It was just the whispy stuff that was throwing me for a loop. I appreciate the time.

Anytime. That’s we are here for, to share and learn.

You will know cobweb when you see it.

Nope not bad at all. Very acceptable contam rates.

It will just happen from time to time no matter how clean you are. The most important thing is to recognize it quickly enough to stop it from ruining other grows you either have going now or other grows in the future.

You are doing well my friend.

If indeed that was trich, or some other contam, then good catch. Since you have it sequestered, are you able to keep an eye on it and see if you do get the green? That could be very helpful for others to see how it progesses!

I plan on moving away from trays in next grow. But I did see something posted about a hair or something possibly falling in there.
I guess I’m wondering if there is any reason to worry about using vermiculite right out of the bag is there? I’d have to assume all these trays would have got contaminated if that’s the case.

I’ve already split the cake in half and scraped the vermiculite later off.
I know that it’s still contaminated, but at least I got most of the visible mold out of the house.

A lot of people have posted that verm out of the bag is safe. I always at least pasteurize it, but I'm overly cautious.

No that shouldn’t be a vector I would not worry about it too much. But it never hurts to treat it first just Incase.

My 2 cents anyway.

After reading most of your agar posts and other stuff, your 2 cents is worth at least 5 to me. If that makes you feel any better.

I can just hear catsandbats cheering “ONE OF US ONE OF US” as he does his best to create another agar head.

That’s awesome!

Did you modify the lids at all or do it like I do, un-modified but very loose lids?

Unmodified. I may have not finished reading that thread. You mean for cooking only, not colonization?
They are loose for PC. I was under the impression they get tightened after sample is placed.
