I collected this plant a couple years ago during a hike, near my home. For two years it grew very little, but this year it adopted this almost radial growth pattern I've never seen before, at least not from an opuntia.

Thanks! It started as a single, emaciated pad I collected two years ago, in the fall. It took all winter, in a windowsill, to root.

Then, it only grew a single pad the following year. This year, when I put it out,it popped several buds, which became all the radials seen in the photo now. I have five different, locally collected, species among my collection. I think this year I will leave the locals out in a coldframe, rather than bring them in for the winter.
