Does this look like the beginnings of mycelium? It's all right at the inoculation points and it's about day 4.bf143a249fb766199aee8c0401263bec.jpg983a68db5aed0f46cffa988a5cd8f04f.jpg5125467a0137f445b6e219241caa2984.jpgce1b96c0a30472ba9d0b26bbba3f4c80.jpg

Yes, it could be. Give it a little more time and you will know for sure!

What temperature are you incubating? Proper temp will give you fastest growth at this point.

My room is at a constant 72°F. As of this morning 2 more of my Rusty Whyte and 1 of my Golden Teacher jars have sprouted mycelium at the inoculation points! Will post pictures as soon as they spread a bit more. I'm so excited! Thank you for the reply.

You may have to zoom in on a couple but the fuzzy white strands are there. I should have gotten the the smooth sided jars.

Good stuff man.  I know it's tough but try to leave them alone somewhere dark.  Check in 1-2 weeks you should be solid. Good vibes

Here's the latest pictures of my Rusty Whyte jars. The one with the (*) is the first jar to sprout and is the most aggressive of them all. Due to the increase in outside temperatures the room is now at 75°F. No contamination has been spotted yet. On a side note I have prepped some no pour agar dishes. Gonna get some grub and fire up the PC tonight and inoculate tomorrow. Will post pictures of the GT jars in a bit. c1c5f6f6d05225ddd65d7980b73782f1.jpg611d7d5744a13e737c33dfeaeb7890ee.jpg3e1c90ab965eb9678cdfb26daad375b2.jpg6982b10951ca7bbf61d954bd9ce768b7.jpg6be31e750ef9d79ceefacfa5417ce039.jpg

As of 8-11-19 that last stubborn Golden Teacher jar finally is showing definite growth. Last night I prepped and PC'D some "Pasty" no pour agar plates. I will inoculate in about an hour.

Well just pulled my WBS jars out of the PC leaving them to cool over night in the SAB. Trying out Pastywhyte's EZ lid tek. My only worry is I may have over hydrated my WBS with simmering. Gonna try just the wash and 24 hour cold soak next batch if I come across contamination. Gonna post pictures of my BRF jars tomorrow. Damn those Rusty Whyte jars are aggressive! Can't wait to grate them to bulk!

We have all seen BRF jars colonizing so I will not bore you with more pictures. The Rusty Whyte jars are trucking along (~60٪) slowly followed by the Golden Teacher jars(~25-30٪). Even though I may have screwed up(over hydrated probably) the WBS jars I'm gonna let the sit and see if anything happens. Just PC'D the new and improved Pasty plates and I think I did it right this time around. If you are a noob making agar use a scale (you'll thank me later). Even with all the failures and limited successes this is such a fun hobby! Can't wait until I can spawn my cakes to bulk start printing and possibly cloning! f9c861c48b191a099c7e0b1faa4a9ad3.jpg5204c3415f7ccb4d181a099066490426.jpg
