I use Pitt Competition pellets or Oak Pellets, whichever is the cheapest at the time (Competition is a nice blend of hardwoods and usually the Cheapest right after Summer).  I also grab me a cheap bag of WC Doug Fir pellets for about 5 bucks and supplement my hardwood blocks with 20% Softwood (4 Cups to a 20-cup batch for 4 Five-pound blocks).  I used to run straight hardwood, but a little soft mixed in doesn't seem to matter much (maybe slightly slower, but plenty of variables and isn't definitive).  I buy Rice Bran in bulk since it's the cheapest and easiest to get in my area.  4 cups of Bran, or a cup per Block.  5 quarts of water.

After getting a 2nd flush, it seemed pretty dwindled but was going to give it a soak and see what happens. I'd forgotten about it for a week or more and checked it this morning and found a couple decent sized fruits open and spores released.

I was going to toss my current FC but no thinking maybe I should try fruiting one more time but not sure about the spore covering.

First flush of PF Red Spore fruited in a ziplock bag.

I really dig the color of Kings caps.

I never wait for maturity cuz hungry. The caps are quite lovely if I had patience.
