Oats to Rye Grain, Pans grow fine on Oats (quite a bit slower), but BLAST thru Rye. And just a heads up, don't freak out when your mycelium looks like it went trich on you, it's just bruised and will recover within 2 days. This jar was strong and survived two initial shakes. I do this to spread the mycelium again, but most importantly, make sure the culture isn't weak and fizzle (the rest of the Oats I saved to transfer completely recovered within a day). I've never G2G Pans so I figured WTH.

G2G is my favorite method without a doubt to expand for a home grower like me. Playing the numbers game with Pans is always a good idea.

1 pint Mexicana 'Chicon Nindo' split into 2 and added to quarts of no prep oats on 7/29, almost done.

1 pint Subtropicalis into 3lbs no prep millet also 7/29, maybe 1/3-1/2 way there and no contams yet.
