The eternal pin.

Mexicube is reputed to tolerate cold better than most, so I had the idea to take these cakes and get them to pin in the cold, and then clone a pin from each cake on agar. There was one pin at the outset. Thirteen days later there are no new pins and the original is growing very slowly

They may need temperatures above 10-15°

First good flush on my first attempt at spawning BRF cakes to coir/verm substrate. Hopefully the second flush is a good one too.

Outgrowing verticillium, I guess I wont print this tub

I've heard verticillium doesn't effect potency. This was a test of a new substrate, the control group is unaffected. Assuming there is no big return of the vert, will comparison of potency and yield between the two groups be moderately valid? I was expecting a potential potency boost in the test group.

Hi guys and gals. Long time no post! I've still been growing all this past year :) This current grow, I had a 1/2 pt jar get a green spot at the top right before the jar colonized, so instead of tossing, I buried it in a pot of coir outside to see what would happen. These popped up a week after (it also looks like someone got the munchies - pill bugs I'm guessing). Yum. Just birthed the good cakes 2 days ago. I think this might be my last run with cakes. I love how easy they are, and I've been so busy this year so I haven't had time to dive into anything new, but I'm ready to have a go at agar and grains/bulk (finally).

26 Sectors by my count, the only thing I can decide is which one to not grow on

More goofing around on agar.

In search I saw people ask if agar could be used to remove a verticillium infection from a tissue clone, but I couldn't find an answer. No one seemed to have tried it.

I have a grow going that got hit by vert, in the worse of the two tubs the hyphal knots grew into the signature amorphous blobs of a vert infection, so I placed four blobs on to nutrified tea agar to try and grow out healthy sectors. Three are starting to grow as anticipated. This one, however, looks like it put hair gel in its new growth.

I cant decide if its being hit by bacteria, vert, or if it has decided to join an 80's band.
