So it appears that we're not very good listeners (as a culture), seeing as how the movie this clip is from came out in 1976 (it's uncanny, and it even predated Reagan!):

But then Brave New World came out in 1932 and 1984 in 1949, so there you go.
Satire and dystopian fiction are apparently not enough to snap us out of it, so the great existential question of our time continues to be how we can mute these supposedly-immutable bylaws of business before the actually-immutable bylaws of thermodynamics and nature make it all moot.
Since time is not our friend, one of my proposals involves several 55-gallon drums of LSD.
Anyone got any better ideas?

The "bylaws of business" are not immutable.


The gravitational constant is.  The speed of light is.  The charge of the electron is.


Business is human behavior.  Angels and assholes included.
