One should also see James Corbett's documentary, available for free online:
On edit: put up the wrong link. Here's the whole documentary in three parts:

I am really finding three guys to get news, some history, and informed analysis from. Aaron Maté, Max Blumenthal, and Ben Norton. These guys make quite a team.
Fourteen minutes from the guy they arrested for reporting on Venezuela.
A brief history of the new US cold war with Russia w/ Max Blumenthal
Aaron Maté on From Russiagate to Ukrainegate -- nine minutes
These guys are great for seeing behind the curtain. The Grayzone Channel.
Max on media propaganda (12 minutes):

Your videos prompted me to do my first reading on this subject. It's all fantastically complicated but it IS easy to see that a midnight SWAT raid is completely out of proportion with a months-old warrant for simple assault. It seems the kind of thing for which they could send two patrol officers to knock on your front door mid-day. But, they could have justified it to themselves if Blumenthal has an arrest record related to his activism.

Oh yes, and be sure to do it on a Friday night, and move him from lockup to lockup in order to keep him for the longest possible time, when you know that he's probably going to have the charges dismissed if it comes to a halfway honest court. It's good we live in a nation with no political prisoners, eh? Not a supporter of Juan and the US taking over Citgo? Jail for you, bud.

Alder Logs thanks for posting these, I will take a look into them. They remind me some of Karl Marx’s Communist Manifesto that I read years ago, which I felt like I was breaking ‘the law’ for just reading that book. But then I was born pretty much in the age of McCarthyism. And even tho I don’t agree with the extent of Marx’s views, his premise is truthful in so many ways and they seem to resonate with the content of these YouTube videos. On contemplating another Mycotopia topic today, I came across a great quote from Thich Nhat Hanh - “Usually when we hear or read something new, we just compare it to our own ideas. If it is the same, we accept it and say that it is correct. If it is not, we say it is incorrect. In either case, we learn nothing. The present moment is filled with joy and happiness. If you are attentive, you will see it.” I still have a lot to learn.

A lot more to chew on here than the title would suggest. It's a look into the politics and justice at play, and the rewards for honesty and integrity as the powers that are would like to have it. In a model that is supposedly a representative republic, who will represent an honest citizen?
