I have generally avoided social media like a plague. This is my first forum I have ever been a part of and it is just much more of an enjoyable experience to me.

The comment sections in news articles or videos really are just a toxic place. You just end up arguing an spewing your ideologies at each other. Nobody really cares about one another thoughts. Just a bunch of people yelling into a hole

This forum seems to be a place where I can have discussions with like minded Individuals. Ego can sort of take a back seat for a moment, its nice to meet so many like minded individuals. As well as the ones who think differently.

So thanks, keep up the good work out there

Comments sections are much too often toilets for the mentally insane, and those who never learn they can't help those whose heads are full of unpleasant shit

And you are correct. Forums are by and large much more pleasant places to be. This one being one of the best anywhere.

After reading a few screwtube comment sections it became apparent that they mostly consist of the uneducated and uninformed uttering the unspeakable to the uninterested.

And that's the least problematic antisocial network, so is the best-case scenario among all the contemporary techno-tragedies of the commons.

I quit social media early 2016 by deleting my Fedbook, Wackchat, instaCRACKgram, etc.
Now I'm just on this wonderful site and quora. Has defintely simplified my life by making what my mind

consumes more of a conscious choice. By the way, I love this forum! You guys are amazing and I appreciate you!

I like "Fedbook," lol. I'll probably start calling it that and add it to Screwtube and Shitter.

I used to call it Facemask, but it's long since degenerated into something much worse and more insidiously dangerous than that.

Always felt fakebook was creepy, never joined.  In my wildest dreams I could not have imagined it would be so damaging

I did get on shitter for the jokes, but its just to much noise to sort through

I find forums to be focused on a subject matter and a database of knowledge with the older ones.

Forums tend to be more private and full of like minded people.

F-Book is more for a family, or group of geographically seperated people to stay in touch and let's you see people put their trash out for all to dig through.

Just my 2 cents.

Just dig into the Cambridge analytical and you wont think fakebook is so harmless

I'm fully aware of FaceBook my friend and didn't intend to make it sound harmless.

I should have prefaced my statement by saying that most idiots that use it were for the purposes I mentioned thus it's continued and still expanding growth.

Google and Facebook need to be dealt with soon or the average Joe will have absolutly no privacy.

Strike that last statement anyone that uses either has no privacy!

I prefer the forum. Anonymous presence and deeper subjects.

I don't know what it is with me, but social media never went well. I have a facebook with one or two photos, no info, and I only use it to message old friends or friends overseas here and there.

I suppose this forum must be good, they've tolerated me for 7 years now.

I know what you meant though, people should not feel bad for using it.

It is meant to be a way to connect, but it has the opposite effect

I used to think that, but not anymore

If you use FB, you should feel bad because you literally ARE part of the problem.

I agree, and perhaps that is the best way to get people to quit it. I find that when people come to the realization on their own it is a much stronger response than when being told what to do
