Hey my friends,

It's been some time, a decade or so, since I made bubble hash. I used to have a great set of bags for a 5 gal bucket. 7 or 8 I don't remember.

But I seem to be in need of these again, so what are you all using if your process is the same?

Thanks in advance to all

Peace

These are the bags I use to make my bubble hash. I think I got them from bubble bag dot com and they are made in Canada. I use only 4 bags. They range from finest #25, #75, #160, and #220(work bag). And some pictures of the final product after drying for a couple of days.

Thanks so much Observer, glad to see you here.

Some great looking bubble there my friend. I know the 8 bags is a bit much and using only 4-6 in my opinion does quite well.

I've got my bags and 3 paper grocery bags packed with trim in the freezer and will be giving them a run on Monday.

I'll update this thread with pictures then

Peace

IMO, nothing beats a nice full melt... I would take full melt over oil any day of the week...

Wow you're going to have a good haul on that much trim. I yielded 20 grams of bubble in those pictures. That's only two runs in the bags. How many runs do you do for your trim crazy1?

I used to do 2 minimum, depending on how much it yielded. I have gone up to 4 runs, but usually by the forth there wasn't enough to justify the time in my opinion.

You made a nice haul with that run Observer, I'll be posting here when I get going the beginning of the week.

And actually, there are about 3 or 4 more bags of trim to be picked up lol. It's gonna be a full time job for a few days. But I don't mind, it'll be fun!!

Peace

Yeah I did two runs with a 5 gallon bucket 3/4 full of sugar trim from last harvest that was dry and cured. Do you stir it by hand like I do with a wooden spoon or have something rigged up to a drill? I found that just doing it by hand seems to be the best for me. I attached a wooden spoon to the drill but it didn't work like I had imagined. I guess you could use a paint stirrer to agitate it.

Right on my friend.

I use a drill with a paint stirrer on it. Low speed and I have to take breaks as it gets "foamy" from the agitation. But from about 1/3 of a grocery bag of trim I got just over 3 gms in 3 washes.

Back t it soon as the sun comes up here. Got 5 more bags to go

Peace

I really liked the 5 gallon washer. It was a very gentle agitation and worked like a charm. Not too pricey if you have a lot to do up. Makes the money well spent to not be tied to the process. Set the timer and you can be doing other things.

Thanks again One, I just ordered it. Won't be doing anything this weekend as 2 of the 4 kids are home and it's their time.

Ot should be here Tuesday, so I'll wait and take the easy route you suggested.

Peace and blessings

The Bubble Magic arrived yesterday and I unpacked it this morning. Everything looks in good shape

I am going to replace the drain hose with a smooth one before I start washing the trim. I watched a few videos from this amazing French guy. He is totally a hash master. And he mentioned the ribbed hose and how it can catch the hash when draining the machine. So why not upgrade the hose?

VIDEO HERE

Peace my friends and thnks for all the help so far

Was able to get a couple washes in with the Bubble Magic washer.

Dang it!!!! That was easy and in my opinion, did a great job.

I'll try to get some pictures and the final product

I really appreciate your linking me to it One  :thumbs_up2:

Peace

Well after a good time yesterday working with the Bubble Magic washer, I am here to tell you this thing is amazing!!!!!!

I used the 220 micron washing bag with about 4 big hand fulls of leaf trim. I didn't get pictures this time of the process and each washes product.

I then ran it through a 190 then into a 45 bag. I didn't use the 25 as I am on well water and the 25 literally takes an hour to sieve through.

I ran a total of 5 washes. After the 5th wash there was such minimal keif/hash I didn't thing it would b worth running another wash.

Now I did use minimal ice, as was talked about in the video I previously linked. The hash came out with much less green color and has an amazing aroma I smelled this morning sifting it down.

This picture is only the nice "blonde" colored hash made yesterday. There was some green in the 5th wash so that was set aside to go into edibles.

I call this a pretty productive day 11.9 grams dry sifted

bubble day 1 .jpg

There was 1 gm more out off the 5th wash dry weight

Peace

2019 has been a fantastic year for medicine at Bear Swamp.  Taking a day off from trimming (and playing with the new macro lens) to make some music & fest with old friends.  Tomorrow will be playing with the new bubble hash machine so I’ll be chiming in with my results.  Until then...

Watched part of the video with the French guy & liked the way he had cut stackable buckets for the bag layers.  Will be making an early run to Home Depot tomorrow for some 5 gal pails & a smooth hose replacement.  I’ve for some fresh trim from this year — mostly Dark Horse & Pulto — as well as some cured trim from 2018.  Will have to decide which to run 1st...   hmmmm.....

I feel like a 6 year old at Christmas this harvest.
