Im starting a new thread because these new bags are more than just B+ as my last post was titled! Trying to go big on this one!

So about a week and 5 days ago i inocculated these bags.

2 with GT, 2 with B+, and one with huautla because i only had one bag left.

GT:

71534021_364433671102339_24132366735853471906552_2874132279280746_81464178822600 The GT's are looking good, definitely taking off i would say. I suspect it is due to how packed the syringe was with spores. I do not know where my buddy got the syringe, i know now that he didn't make it himself, so wherever he got it from seems to be good if its the right strain and doesn't contam. NOTE that these bags were colonized 2 days before the others as i did not get the others mailed yet.

B+:

71799248_410773656488515_78395622215154471656487_497569100823367_739563812983249 One bag is doing good and the other seems to have stalled for some reason. I do not know why.

Huautla:

71648959_2426533277669385_69686565030162 This one is colonizing okay and I think it will continue to do so.

So that one bag that hasn't really colonized still hasn't, no idea why! it has barely colonized a little more, while the rest got to around 30-40% and have already been mixed.

Anyone know what could cause stalling on the second bag of a syringe?

Maybe the majority of the spores went into the first bag? I mean it was a whole 5cc!

kinda disappointing. don't know what to do with it!

Will it even be useful once its finally colonized if it takes too long?

I'm not impressed with gt's, they're slow as a snail for what they produce in the end.... they're not "commercially viable" to cultivate if you get me... heh heh

But besides that, your bag that had little to know growth has a splotch of bacteria in it (fourth bag down) you may not have noticed it, I wouldn't expect that one to do much other then turn foul on you.

Keep your eyes and nose peeled for anymore possible bacteria, just sniff threw the filter patch and you'll be able to tell.

Cheers man, sorry to bring you the bad news.

The GTs are the ones that have went the fastest!
Then again the syringes had way more spores in them.
How can you tell the second b+ has contam?

Near the center of the bag there is a kernel that's become slimey with a froth to it plus some kernels to the left have a discoloration to them that's associated with wetspot bacteria.... they'll turn bright and shiny before slimey.

I've noticed some slimyness around some of the already mixed grain
I am hoping for the best but fearing the worst.
What could it be? And how could it have started?
I got my syringes from reputable sources except for the GT which idk the source. If those fail I'm not woo worried as I am with the rest failing. a0bab8c46a93995a8effeee6d7a07a3f.jpg6c2ac5cdedb6958678cad3179f3ffb2e.jpg

2.  toss them and buy new bags

Glad to see you going at such a great grow, where did you source your grain bags from?

Not to really ask the specific source, but bought or you made them?

This could be the source of the contam, just sayin'

Peace

I doubt the syringes were the issue since you still have healthy mycelium.

That only leaves the bags of grain themselves as the source of the problemo

I'd toss the ones with the slime, it will only spread further before it begins to really stink....I've hung onto my share of bacterial substrates hoping for the best and always getting the worst lol it's currently happening to my last set of rye/popcorn jars.... 21L worth of grain...

You could try making up some pf cakes, they're a lot easier to sterilize then grain. If you bought them from a vendor, explain that they've gone bacterial, maybe they'll replace them, just dont try and mail them back to them with a live culture present lol

(It nearly happened somewhere else that's why I said that)

Bacteria would be from the grains, not your syringe. Hey, at least you don't ever have to buy GT spores again once those fruit, just take a bunch of prints.

I'm not a huge fan of GT either but ive only grown it 2x. It fruits well tho I felt. I cant wait to see the fruits of that are u doing the bags as soon as they are colonized or u gonna stagger them?

Good news, never be afraid to tell the vendor that you got a bunk syringe or spawn bag, they are usually happy to replace em.
