Cool trick Tabby - Two for one. Someone taking those orders must be a 'microscopy amateur' as well..

How are your bags doing?

So the first pic is one of them. Glad I checked in time because Its definitely contaminated out the ass.
Dont know what to do with that one. Not putting it bag in the fruit box.
The rest of the pictures are the other bag. It's got loads of pins growing around the sides, but none on the surface. The surface actually looks pretty strange to me so I took a picture.
Is this some other type of contam? The little popcorn like surface?f91311fe91e4d2aea2dee252a4cc64f6.jpg2fee46eea188ce734a342c486cdfb857.jpgb05be0e335ee63bbe63d571a520caa1b.jpgd348b30e96b3a5f98eea1b292cee74af.jpg

Still getting pins everywhere but the top. Anyone have an idea why?

Could just be they prefer the conditions on the side of the bag more than on top, could be for different reasons and might not necessarily mean there is a problem at all.

I only had this once, all fruits on the bottom of a tray and none on top, that was when I put a casing layer on top that was too wet and too thick. I see you haven't cased it so that isn't it. Have you been misting perhaps? Sorry if you mentioned that earlier in the thread. Again there probably isn't a problem, so maybe we don't have to go look for one.

I always have trouble telling something useful about a top-pic of a colonized substrate. Most fully colonized substrates look funky in some way to me. It's always hard to tell whether there is something off going on or not, I do see some deformed blob type bodies forming in there. This could indicate some kind of contamination, but isn't necessarily harmful depending on what is going on, if at all.

In my case I probably had something else going on, the whole grow felt wrong and was having trouble with verticillium and trichoderma at that time. It was Golden teacher by the way.

theres even some growing on the bottom on mine lol.

But no I havent misted, Theres lots of humidity in the bag already. I have been giving it some air daily though.

as long as they grow to decent size i really dont care where they grow.

Ill be innoculating thwe new bags today, im gonna find somewhere else to colonize them, cant have them in the place im checking daily

I thought so much, misting isn't necessary in a bag. Giving them fresh air is something to be careful with I think, can invite some guests you don't want at the party. But I understand, they need fresh air.

I think most of my problems came from the fact I had had lots of plants (and bugs) in that room, maybe even while I was growing shrooms. I don't have plants in my new house so hope that will reduce my issues now I'm starting up again.

Bags always tend to fruit at the sides, it’s just the high levels of co2 in a small environment, it all sits at the bottom. It’s just the way she goes with bags, it’s not really ideal to grow mushrooms in such an enclosed environment but it works. You just won’t get the prettiest looking fruits.

I used to tape the sides of my bags with black tape to promote fruiting on the top and it worked pretty good, I also used to leave the bags pretty much open at the top, don’t clip them shut.

They look like they’re doing alright tho, nice work bro!

Here's some new pics.
They're basically damn near exploding on the sides, fucking shrooms everywhere.
On the top it's like no man's zone or skme shit.
If you look closely, every time theres a pin it judt aborts almost immediately.
Any ideas why?
The co2 thing kinda makes sense. My last bags grew on the top just fine though.d6577b01be3c63ff7c8218ae9d203ff8.jpg37a45abc20f6013cf99105781237e2fb.jpg77eaa180a9008efe575cb718576c1537.jpg3e13b09dd17c2c539fa9fdab11eec526.jpga8430efc632c568c10cb48ec6636ec6a.jpg2b49f3004bc30e871c92997a2b184c20.jpg792fe4866a9b83d6af43914e992e1873.jpg

I'm kinda lost with why, I've never really grown in bags though. The sides and bottom look great.

Possibly it's not totally colonized and for some reason the nutes are there to fruit but not grow out. I'll be following to see if there's something I'm missing

Good vibes and peace

Thanks a ton Mikey!!!

I have some filter patch bags here, I used to use them for large grain spawn runs. Actually have one going now.

I guess I need to try to grow invitro in the bag very soon. Gimme a few and I'll get a log going when I give it a try

Peace

Looking good my friend!

And it doesn't matter when you pick them honestly, but sometimes you need to harvest a few a bit early.

Enjoy and way to go

Peace

Picked a few more. Some that had broken off the veil and some that came off in the process of me getting the others.
I wish I knew what strain this bag is, but in the commotion of everything getting contaminated, i mixed them up.
Should've labeled them
Oh well. Either Wednesday or Friday I'm gonna take a tab of some great acid I've got and as many mushrooms as I can get. Then I'm gonna lay down probably the whole time28015b0f73d3255135ca5e4af3f1f634.jpg
