Thanks for the response. I have bins a little bigger, 12 quart. (shoe boxes for people with huge feet) I first had bought 6 quarts like you have, but I thought the sub would be a bit thick as a result because of the dimensions of it. I'm not sure, but I don't like that idea very much. I now have room for more substrate in there and still have room for the mushrooms to grow for the most part without going dub tub. If it is necessary I can go there in the last few days of fruiting.

I have decided not to mod anything to start out with, we'll see how that goes. I'll just flip the lids for fruiting stage: the lids are slightly concave when flipped, so on both sides the lid wount touch the bin. That sould provide plenty of air exchange. Seems to me to be a good idea to start out without mods for this, and see how that works out. As soon as it doesn't seem to work I can go and mod the empty bins/lids I have.

My two tubs don't form a seal, but I modified them before I noticed this. The sub doesn't dry out, and the way I see it if the sub isn't drying out then there is no such thing as too much FAE. I could be wrong, but this is my current mindset. That being said, the next dub tub I make won't have a different number of holes, they will just be placed differently I think.

Thanks to another very generous member of the topia community, I have some new genetics to play with. Today I cooked up a big batch of agar, and inoculated my first round of plates.

Lions mane, Reishi (again), Black Morel, and Blue Oyster. I may start a thread in the other forum for the progress on these plates, but I look forward to trying to cultivate some wood lovers!

Pics 2, 3, and 4 are from today. Some nice growth in the past few days and some small pins emerging!

Thats some pretty fast growth! Never done G2G before, so I'm amazed.

They're all going really fast, I used almost an entire agar plate for 3 of them then about half for the other 2 (B+ and one GT)

The results are looking terrific macguyver, very speedy for a wedge.

I used the whole plate  cut it up into 8 slices and shook it. I'll post more pictures in a couple days!

Pins are forming in the Chitwan tub!!!

Grain masters are colonizing well, in order of appearance - GT, B+ Clone, and Chitwan (opposite side of the jar is not colonized/ not very colonized). After 6 days of colonization, Chitwans are in 1st place, GTs are in 2nd, and the B+ Clone jar is in last. Shook them all today!

(ignore the green hues, its from the tub  )

Glad it's coming from the tub and not the carpet heh heh ;)

Looking very nice macguyver, I'm getting euphoric seeing the gts come to life on the other side of the lake. The chitwans look equally awesome, I just innoc'd a jar of popcorn with that b+ so hopefully the vibes are shared soon.

Pins are popping up very quickly in the Chitwan tub, also a TON of mutants and blobbing. Is this a common thing to see when using cloned genetics? Maybe I transferred too many times on agar before using the plate?  (also a picture of my first Chitwan fruit, which sprouted inside of the grain master jar :) )

Grain masters all recovered overnight! GT, B+ clone, Chitwan (pictured in that order)

A couple plates of Arcadian Coast that I'll be transfering soon and eventually using to start a grain master.

Some meaty mutants, and some delicious condensation

All of the grain masters are currently at 100%, going to let them consolidate for a few more days then have a G2G day!

Finished up the top of the Chitwan flush today, strong finish! Put the dub tub into fruiting conditions, just as many side pins and mutants... Definitely need to use a liner for the side pins. Not sure about the mutants, but I will see what happens from spores.

Also found some iconic Turkey Tail outside and I'm looking forward to cloning it :)

Chitwan tub second flush is looking concentrated, but strong. Did a batch of 12 jars GT G2G a few days ago. Made the big upgrade to Quart jars and I'm cooking some right now for some B+ clone G2G! Thanks to a very generous topian, I'm starting to play with 2 new strains on agar - APE and Huatla! woohoo! Got a decent flush from the Chitwan dub tub #1, going to clean it up and dunk it tonight. Starting an Arcadian coast master soon too.

20200210_165637.jpg

The Turkey Tail clone attempt was a catastrophic failure and I'm scared to open the plate lol

20200210_165321.jpg

The plate is a nightmare, looks even worse IRL, that is 4 days of growth. Never worked with TT but I'm not even sure the white growth is good mycelium.
