Hi everyone,

Could use a little help..If one were to take manure from the top of the pile ( big pile in corner of horse/donkey yard ), golden but still wet and smelly ( lot of rain no dry stuff to be found ), nice nuggets though..could this be straight pasteurised, drained, and put straight into jars/subs?..perhaps a bleach / lime soak to kick it off??..is it drying it first really that necessary?..its been squeezed and shredded but outside temps are too cold for speedy drying..

Been a while and didn't work with poo much back when tbh.. think it was summer and drying was no prob, managed to prep loads on a tarp on a hot day once then bagged it dry to keep going for ages.

I guess the real question here is will the ammonia be effectively removed by leaching and draining alone..?

Thanks Poo Experts. :)

I don't know when you would be putting it in jars but if it has been rained on several times and well leached, it should be good to go... Just break it up into your substrate mix, pasteurize, and blamo.....

If it has been rained on a bunch, it should be adequately leached...
