i searched and searched and I swore up and down there was a musical instrument thread, but for the life of me can't find it, so I start this one.

My new pride and joy! I have wanted this guitar, since I have taken up the hobby, of course it is WAY out of my league, both musically and financially but when the stars line up

sometimes you get what you wish for. This thing is a beauty, I don't even feel comfortable yet taking it out of it's case, lol. Seriously, I tend to pick up one of the cheapos when i'm just noodling around, god forbid I get scratch on it. I plan to pass this one on to the kids, hopefully they will do the same.

2019 Gibson Les Paul Standard.. 60's spec..in Tabaco Burst. (not the greatest pic). I know some no longer like Gibson because of past mistakes by the company, this is the comeback guitar after bankruptcy in 2018. They have gone back to original design specs. I like it.

Thats a nice axe! I grew up playing fenders and had a nice American made, sadly we had to part ways. Im saving for a new electric as we speak and seeing this post makes me want to go to the local shop and try out some Gibson's. My one lifelong friend swears by Epiphones and Gibson's where i prefer the glassy fender sounds. Currently im playing my Ibanez acousic and am loving every minute of it.

thanks, I love it, although I would trade it in a heartbeat for a ES335 or (BB Kings, Lucille) , unfortunately they were way outta my price range.

I also have a Mexi fender strat (which I also love) that guitar is about the easiest playing guitar I have picked up. especially when sitting down, it just balances perfect, unlike the les paul that are very ass heavy and want to fall off my lap if wasn't holding it.

found this Conga at a pawn shop, it had the gash already in it, it called to me, the price was right, so i took her home. never got a new head, she sounds beautiful as she is.

the grandkids geetar in the foreground, found that at the thrift store.

These bongos found me at a flea market. I couldn't say no.

now if I could just keep a beat, I was never much a drummer.

Wow man that is a very nice guitar brother. I am so damn pleased you have stuck with playing! I can't tell you how much positivity that will bring to the entire rest of your life if you stick with it man. It's the music that is the best gift I have ever given myself. Remember last time we visited I had been playing daily for a long time, well I still do, although my level of skill somehow doesn't seem to reflect that lol. I wish it did, but maybe we are our own biggest critics.

I have expanded my skill set to include 3,6,12 string guitars, Mandolin, Ukelele, Bass and even some violin lol. The thing about that is they all tune differently so each one has it's own learning curve. It keeps me from getting stagnated with one or the other.

I would sure like to hook up again sometime soon bro. I will never be a Pro, but I accept that and have fun with what I can work out. If I find myself down and bummed, learning a new song always seems to make life better. I had to find something to do with myself after I quit smoking and growing and guitar just kinda became that. It's a daily routine for me, and I am still strumming that same Ibanez $200 12 string 80% of the time. Not sure I can find a pic of it on here, but I will try! :)

You heard and saw my favorite one that day. I have gone out to buy a $2-3,000 guitar a few times, but cannot seem to equal the beautiful tone of that $200 guitar. Until I DO I will keep it. Here;s a picture of the beautiful Mandolin I got a while back, and my 3 12 strings and my favorite 6 string, which is an old school Dean B. Zelinda before he sold the company and it became just Dean guitars. My favorite players here.

I tell my wife I need three different 12 strings because I break so many strings retuning between the 4-5 different tunings lol. So by that line of thought I still need 2-3 more! :) Glad to see you are still at it brother.

Gorgeous instruments brother coop! I did get to see the one 12 string you brought over, sounded beautiful. I love the mandolin, I have been wanting to get one myself. just hasn't happened yet.

My acoustics right now only consist of a couple old ones that have seen better days, one was back in the day when they were using a zero fret, it's kinda weird but has a fret directly after the nut, that sticks up higher than the rest, the strings rest on that fret, for some reason I have a hard time fretting notes without string buzz, so I rarely play it.

for awhile there  I was buying and selling guitars, so I have gone through at least 10 guitars in the last 2 years, including bases. When I get bored with the guitar, I'll pull the base off the wall and play around with it.

It's nothing special, i just liked the color and the price was right.

I got a couple more, a gorgeous Ibanez with a quilted maple top. I am planning on selling the above Epiphone, with original case for $200. I need more guitars but I only need 1 Les Paul

Ive been thinking a about learning piano as I've been listening to alot of classical music, "hand drums" have been an interest aswell so maybe a Conga would do me some good. Wharfrat is that an epiphone lp? I bet it has a nice tone. I think my friend has the p90.

Edit: after looking i can see the Les paul logo. Another nice guitar man.

Nice collection you have going man! I think I am up to 17 or so including 3 string cigar box guitars lol. I have had absolutely "0" luck selling any, but I do gift them if I find a new person wanting to learn or who just shows interest even. I have gifted 3 to different people, and they were nice guitars that pulled my heartstrings to let go of, but man they take up a lot of space. The one with string buzz probably just needs a truss rod adjustment or a bridge adjustment. Look on youtube for how to adjust the truss rods, it's not too hard and can make a fairly gooed guitar play like butter compared to how it played before. I wish I was working overtime right now, I would love to get that Epiphone lol even though my wife might break it over my head!

lol, I bet she would. The Epiphone was traded today for a MIM FenderTelecaster. I think I did quite good on the trade, it's worth more for sure.. pic's to come

I would love a piano, unfortunately no room. I did buy my son a nice keyboard that has weighted keys that feel like a real piano and act like it, how hard you hit the keys, louder/softer. Pretty cool, digital goodies. I'm just waiting for him to get bored with it, then i'll have to adopt it

It was a nice Epi, but had to go for the Tele, I have the Gibson LP now, which blows the Epi out of the water

and here is the Telecaster.. although they look so plain, it sounds fantastic and feels like i have owned it for years. That Tele tone is unmistakable. Think i just found my new daily (the gibson is too nice to daily)

Guitar for me too. I don't have anything as nice as you guys, but I have a beautiful 60's style fender strat, an epi LP and a few other axes of no particular interest to anyone. I play them all, all the time. each has it's own personality to me and each is it's own separate little portal into feeling differently about things. My LP for example, it feels so violent and destructive when I strap that thing on me, I can barely describe it.

Now only if I could play better.

I do a lot of soulful blues, some funk and rock, a lot of reggae.

I have decided I need a purple tele, by the way.

No real instrument for me nowadays. Have taught myself to play a bit of bass and guitar in the past but haven't done that in years.

Have been mostly producing music with my computer, and occasionally recording some bass/guitar/vocals. Had sold all of the gear in the past years, but a few weeks ago I thought let's just get back into it. So I'm starting out with a borrowed MacBook and a simple MIDI keyboard. Synths are my favorite instruments. Beats and electronic is my thing.

I got to play a Rainsong a year or two ago. I was so damn impressed with the tone and perfect action on it. The all weather thing rocks too, I am so paranoid about having my favorites outside in damp weather. I looked into Carbon Fiber guitars and now my dream guitar is an Emerald short scale 12 string. Look up Emerald carbon fiber guitars and check out the tone and beauty they put out. This lets you play in a higher scale without a capo and preserving the chord shapes. I think it would be awesome to have to add backing to conventional tuning songs. I fell in love with this thing. Kind of a cross between a mandolin and a 12 string.

The drums. Trying to set up my live streaming rig. I can stream but the drum set is a new addition to my "studio". I have been playing guitar for quite a while but the drums have always been my favorite instruments. Just acquired the new drum set a week ago. Finally in a place where I have the room for it.

IF you're using amplifiers......and who doesn't from time to time............get and USE hearing protection.......

Said the dude with permanent ringing in his ears......

I have an Ibanez acoustic, 6 string electric, and bass, a Schecter 6 string electric, a Suzuki 12 string, a home made frame drum, a home made fujara flute, and a home made Eastern Woodlands Native American flute.......multiple pedals (of course) as well.....the frame drum is as loud as thunder and will launch you into a trance while playing it....

I'm also know to utter strange chants and other tribal sounding noises......singing through the fujara produces some REALLY wild sounds.....doing it tripping would probably freak people out....

I write old classic rock and roll style music.....

Nice toys boys and girls......a Topia band would be cool.......

I slap and thump around on the Bass guitar. I have a Fender 5 string and an Ibanez 4 String on a Marshall amp. My girlfriend plays guitar, Marimba, Ukelele, Piano, and sings.. I plan to take up drumming soon enough as well Lol
