Here's the orbeez tubs.

The bottom layer tub and the mixed tub are fine but the middle layer tub died off for some reason.
The myc is starting to grow around them in places, I hope it does it all along the bottom.

I don't like how things are looking to be honest, there's alot of myc piss in these tubs that I typically don't get. Gonna assume the extra moisture is breeding bacteria. Once again I'm gonna try hard and accomplish very little.

Perhaps a verm layer on top of the orbeez to act as a buffer for the increased moisture the orbeez provide? Or maybe something else that can moderate the extra moisture?

The idea you have feels right with these, you just need to find a path to it.

If it is possible I believe you can sort it out!   :thumbs_up2: :victorious:

Well I really appreciate your support, and I am tossing a few ideas around that may mitigate the extra h2o content. I predict this grow to be really stressed and produce misshapen fruit, maybe I'll get a good first "stress flush" outta them but I don't expect mush after that.

Maybe some dry verm mixed in or in a layer or maybe only hydrating the oebeez to half capicity are the 2 best ideas i have come up with so far, I'm open to suggestions.

Do you have any of the Orbeeze left in dry form? You could grind them up much finer to better mix with the substrate. Think in terms of a small pinch per quart of substrate. IDK what polymer yours is but the stuff I have, a pinch will literally hold over a cup and a half of water.

@coorsmikey I'm outta likes for today lol. I do have some, and that sounds like a really good idea. I'm not sure what there made of I'll find out. What kinda polymer powder are you using there? If you have used it as a sub additive did it have a positive effect?

Got a update for this project. Orbeez make a better casing layer than a h2o reservoir. I got 22 dry grams off it so I'm not complaining.

The tub that has the orbeez mixed in and not layered is pinning a.t.m.

I didn't get pics (so it prob didn't happen) but the mixed tub first flush was 20 grams dry. Keep in mind these tubs are about 1/3 the size of the typical shoebox dub tub so they won't produce alot per flush but I'm happy with the first flushes of both. As of today both tubs are still going the layered tub has a few new pins showing up in random places and the mixed tub looks terrible, it sweats myc piss due to a rampant bacterial infection. All the extra moisture is helping them breed.
