If anyone here has anything approaching an open mind, or the least bit of curiosity, watch at least the Mike Yeadon portion of this:

No offence Alder, but I didn't see a lot of open mindedness in the few minutes I just watched, and I'm never going to make it to the two hour mark.  But it's good to see you, and I hope you are doing well.  I hope you poke your head in more often.

This is not china, and most folks that got the vaccines, do not consider themselves vaccine police, so AL you are free not to get one, not mask, and attend super spreader events. Why argue? Choices and consequences go together, regardless of beliefs.

Religious snake handlers, get bitten and die, but the cult continues.

It has always been this way and always will be.

And regardless many reach an age, especially these days, with the good medical care in the West,

that they would really prefer death, to continuing to cling, to a declining quality of life.

No one gets out alive. And very few choose when and how to exit.

In the west, the rich seem to often live past their expiration date.

Wether one gets vaccinated or not, psychologically most are motivated by the same desire: to keep living.

Or we could say attachment to life, and anxiety as regards death, if we want to be really blunt.

I don't disagree with, or have any issues with your post, but I'm left wondering why you linked my reply to Alder in it.  There was no argumentative behavior there, it was just polite and civil disagreement, followed with my wish that he (Alder) would chime in more often and not let our opposing views on this issue keep him from participating in other discussion.

So I'm left wondering if I'm missing something you were trying to say with your post. (this could totally be a perception issue on my part, I'm just asking because I don't understand)

Speaking of staff shortages I was feeling it this week. More than a couple people have been off with the "Flu". My coworker that I share duties with said it took four of those rapid tests before he tested positive for covid. No doubt the guy is sick but from what I have heard they are basically saying if you have symptoms at this point you can pretty much assume its omicron.

Nothing directed at you, was just a quick way to grab Alders post with out the video quickly.

The post meant what it said:

I see no need to argue (Thousands have already done so)

One makes a choice

( based on risk assessment of information and reliability of the sources)

and then experiences the consequences;

neither belief nor persuading others affects this

etc.

So taken together one might conclude attempting to persuade others (if one is not an authority or scientist) might really just be trying to get others to agree with oneself, because one really isn't sure of oneself. and is avoiding responsibility for making an independent choice.

As you note we are all human.

And as I pointed out generally the motivations of all are the same: fear of death and suffering. Some are just more scared of the odds from getting vaccinated.

As the example of snake handlers shows, it's tricky for anyone to know for sure if they are being objective, but critical and careful thinking, & due diligence help.

And that includes looking at the history of vaccinations, etc.

If it makes you feel better posting this stuff, then ok I guess, but I'm not going to waste my time watching it.   I watched the first 50 sec., and it was enough to see this is a drama, not a documentary.  A quick glance at the related links that are suggesting how the Jan 6th insurrectionists are being violated tells me all I need to know about the level, and type of content that this site is selling.  I'm not buying any of it.

It saddens me, Alder, as it seems the only reason that you've come back is to push conspiracy theories that are so extreme they are at  the ridiculous level.   You've got so much good to share, and I find it unfortunate that you choose to stay fixated on conspiracy's that range from highly improbable, all the way to pure made up fantasy.

I love you as a human being old man, but I'm never going accept the fertilizer that you're spreading, and I will always speak out against misinformation that I feel is dangerous.

The US outlier status for its rise in hospitalizations —vs European countries now starting descent from Omicron —in the US, the Omicron wave was superimposed on a 2nd Delta surge —the US very low 62% vaxx and 23% booster rate is contributing to this

As some here have already got covid, some of this may be of some use, as omicfon is much more more contagious, & we are all at greater risk

An endemic ending isn't a new prediction, back when this all started it was predicted by scientists and doctors in the know.  They were quickly drowned out by an administration that was trying to deny that there was a problem, and a media that was intent on creating a shit show of false narratives to increase ratings.

Not knocking your post, or the video shiftingshadows.  I think it is nice to see some reality back in the forefront of conversation, but I just wanted to point out that this isn't a revelation to anyone who trusted those people that have dedicated their lives to the study of these things.

Politicians and "the media" are ALWAYS full of shit....endemic or extinction......both start with an E......

I love the idea that it's not possible to escape your karma......death won't even do it.....

Personally I like listening to the reports from the good Dr. above......

IMHO we're looking at a possible "new"-"new" normal" and isn't it true that each day can in fact be/is a "new" normal.....?

if we so choose........

I'm still very optimistic and once again looking forward to spring.....and trout fishing....

Hope you ALL are well...

I think the word endemic and the debate over where this pandemic was going to end up is a big part of peoples motivation in all of this. We had the folk chasing the idea that we were going to eradicate this thing if we managed to vaccinate 95% of the population. Other folk decided from the get go that it was going to be near impossible, based on that same expert advice. So we had the fight over vaccines, one group believing we had a shot to make it all go away, another set on the idea that the sooner we start to learn to live with covid the better. In my area we tried that approach back when the delta wave first hit, our top doctor said we need to start to learn to live with covid, people were optimistic and then reality started to show us a different picture. Trying to live with covid back fired hard as it was too soon to try to call it endemic and we got hit with the worst wave of the pandemic. Things can always change but perhaps we can enjoy a little breath of fresh air for a moment while we watch this continue

.     Presumably you are also aware that many scientists also predict more future pandemics, and that covid like Aids has not stopped evolving. Also factory farming, use of "bush meat", and the wet markets, (all of which are potential sources of zoonotic viral evolution) continue as usual. There has never been any guarantee of anything in this matter, all we have now is an expected respite in the wealthier nations, in the short term. Which seems comforting, but only time will tell....IMO

.    Actually if I recall, what happened was different. Many were blamed in government, and health agencies for not taking it seriously and huge numbers of people have  been killed. Many think figuring out 'conspiracies' is fun, but to anybody on a ventilatory it makes no difference, and neither does the the stupid main media's supposed role in the matter, in influencing the gullible. IMO

.    It is a personal choice wether one locates reliable sources and listens and acts on good advice. Or associates with idiots and acts like one, and does things like storming the capitol and engages in pointless violence, and in general projects hostility, and then finds someone or something else to blame for one's actions.

.   Seems to me the more responsibility I take for my actions, the better, as there has never been any guarantee of anything, what so ever, except for taxes and death

The science behind the vaccine was not to eradicate COVID, once it became a global pandemic it was too late to put that genie back in the bottle.  The vaccine was there to stop the virus from spreading in an unchecked pandemic fashion, and to keep the health care system from being overloaded to the point that not everyone was able to receive the life saving care they needed.   It also gave people enough immunity to reduce the severity of an infection should they become a crossover case, and greatly reduced the chance of death

If more people had had become vaccinated in a timely fashion it would have undoubtedly slowed the spread, and would have saved lives.
