This probably doesn't belong here, but here it is anyway. From my memory Alder was concerned about his health. I recall an elderly woman on the property he was also concerned about during the pandemic and being concerned when needing to run into town for supplies. So the talk of being 'non-compliant' and comments made really don't add up from my point of view. The tone and beat of his words don't match compared to then from my perspective.

Maybe it's me. Life has changed quite a bit since the pandemic began. Can't shake that something is off though.

I'm told another strain has arrived more deadly than the last because it will skip right past my immune system. Well I'm just going to do what I've been doing because what else can I do? I've had my vaccinations and would do it all over again. I'm not one to believe it's going to kill us all because the system would fall apart to the point where the wealthy may have to get out and get their hands dirty. I can't see someone that has their toilet paper folded for them after using it will getting out and have to do more than their accustomed.

It's unreal how divided this country has become on multiple topics.

Interesting. I believe I know what you mean. Then again, I've also learned from several examples in real life that we should never underestimate the effect that overexposure to self-reinforcing social media and pseudo-journalism can have on what someone is willing to believe. This is how I learned about "mud fossil university" (one of the more baffling and bizarre YouTube rabbit holes that a startling number of people apparently believe is talking about something real).

If the vaccines are going to kill us, or do anything to us en masse other than greatly reduce the COVID death rate among the infected (which there is plenty of evidence that it has in fact done) then I'm wondering when all the bad stuff is supposed to happen, exactly?

And if the deadly or whatever stuff was in the first shot then why the need for booster after booster?

These are rhetorical questions, of course.

It's been a long time since I posted it, but Dr. Eric Topol's twitter feed is a very good source of current

covid-related info. He updates it frequently: Eric Topol (@EricTopol) / Twitter

I checked out mud fossil university. Not my speed, but some seemed quite interested and it's entertaining.

Saved the twitter feed. Checked it out and looks like he is on top of current data. Haven't looked into him yet. Can't really see you following someone without doing your own research, but I like to know who I'm listening to.

Have a family member that's refused to get vaccinated. I mentioned it was her choice, but I'm fully vaccinated. Her response was she didn't like being told what to do. I just smiled. My brain exploded though, but thankfully she wasn't able to see it. No hate against those that choose not to, but because you were told to is why? At least tell me you don't trust the government. I can put that circle into the right hole.To each their own I suppose. I'm really trying to learn how to keep my mouth shut. Words sometimes spill out, but this time I was aware enough to know better. Here's to me keeping my mouth shut more often in this life. It seems to only cause discomfort and by that I mean my discomfort.

That's exactly what I learned to do ........... just keep my opinions - and any other sounds I make with my voice - to myself.

I haven't been vaccinated - to date. I've been pretty sick with the "flu" more often in the past three years than at any other time in my life. Just getting over a round of misery as I type. Fever, chills, loss of appetite, - it took about 7 days to be past the worst of it and I seem to be recovering well. I call it the "flu" because I have no desire to expose a health-care worker to my illness just so I can be tested and "know" what I have contracted. Instead, I bunker-down and get over it just  like in years past.

It's kinda funny though really. When growing up I didn't say much about anything. Others would say "You need to voice your opinion". So I began voicing my opinion. Now that I'm older voicing my opinion has caused some difficulties that were totally unnecessary. So now I have to revert back to keeping my mouth shut.

Going on about what you said regarding staying home. Understand why you don't want to possibly infect another human. Do you happen to have a saturation monitor? If you don't then might be good to pick one up. Relatively inexpensive depending on your financial situation. Don't know if you have a loved one or hated one living with you, but if your oxygen drops low enough you may not have the wits about yourself to get help. Although maybe that is okay with you. Might be the type to let life lead you where it may.

I can see your point of view more so than "I'm not doing it because they told me" and not being vaccinated is a personal decision. I suppose I'm curious about people. Want to understand why. Many reasons can answer a why. Being told to do something and not because you were told to for some reason doesn't fit. Life in general has you do things you don't want to do but have to is how I'm processing it. Would like to understand her more though. Maybe one day the opportunity will come.

I'm not the best decision maker and won't claim to be. Not sure what makes me curious about others. Been that way all my life.

I appreciate your genuine curiosity and I'm more than happy to share in the briefest of strokes.

I refused to take the experimental vaccine (m-RNA). (Period)

My feelings about the traditional flu vaccine have led me to avoid that one too. But I do believe in the efficacy of vaccines.

There were fire-hoses of dis-information and information alike out there. I tend not to drink from fire-hoses.

My unique lifestyle allows for extremely limited exposure to humanity at large so I take advantage of my illusions and delusions.

Note that I have admitted to having been sick with the flu more often than I can remember in my 50 years leading up to this shit-show. I will also admit to having reconsidered traditional flu vaccination as - at least - a 30% chance of not getting what I just had.

In response to your suggestion of some sort of O2 saturation monitor...............

I'll admit that I understand why folks end up in the Emergency Department as a result of this infection. My O2 levels were low to say the least. I really felt horrible and knew that it was a result of low blood-oxygen exchange. I laid off of cannabis for a week but needed to vape some hashish to develop an appetite. I was starving to death from not eating.

Cycling nutrition - like one would use for bicycle training - saved my bacon. I was able to pack in protein, vitamins, amino acids, etc. until I could get an appetite to return.

Not something I want to repeat anytime soon. Come July / August next year..........I may go get the flu shot. Tired of being sick for the Holidays.

That's cool. I can understand it which for some odd reason helps me. Thanks for taking the time. Can't put a finger on why I'm curious about people. I'm not above or below another. Individuals are pretty fascinating when open.

Really like "take advantage of my illusions and delusions". I've caught myself more often saying, "I don't know shit" to myself after falling into this site and finding a path. Still have a ways to go with that though. Don't have what I see as the natural conversation ability some possess or have learned thru trial and error. I tend to ask personal questions that myself wouldn't mind answering, but lack the awareness of what another might find uncomfortable which causes discomfort.

Hope you get past the sickness during the holidays man. Wonder why you come down with being 'sick' around the holidays? Especially since you aren't around folks much.

I live in circumstances where I must, not voice most of my opinions. It is doable and many professions require it, I think. People seem to have their own track they follow regardless, and listening is an interesting skill.

I got the first 2 Moderna COVID-19 vaccines & 1 booster, then it appeared post the delta variant that the cost benefit analysis changed due to more and more serious side effects being reported, and the variants being less fatal. Then came more evidence of cutting corners in testing by big pharma, lack of transparency by big pharma, and gross profiteering.

So I stopped going for vaccinations. Then I got a nasty flu for weeks, but no difficulty breathing,  and the home test for covid was negative, then the infection went into one ear or eustachian tube, where it has lodged itself. I don't know if there are any anti-vral medicines for this sort of problem.

Speaking of healthcare, we just now have the option up here on if we wear a mask when we go to see them.  The doc's office requests that if you feel ill, or have any symptoms that you wear one, and they all still wear one, but you don't have to have one on just to come in the door.

Another thought, I don't know what it is about being sick over the holidays, but it seems that I get some kind of nasty bug that time of year more years then not.  Pre, and post COVID, it seems to be a theme I've had for most of my adult life.  I got what I think was probably the flu over x-mas this year, but I wasn't sick enough to think I needed medical intervention, so I just took the week off and rode it out.

In the public library and hear this individual coughing and sneezing. No big deal, but it keeps going and going. No mask, no putting face in arm when sneezing and coughing. Had a runny nose and wet cough. Complete disregard for others health. Really wanted to voice my opinion, but didn't. Thought about what I'd written on here. Funny how that shit works.

Checked the door for signs that may have read "if sick please don't come inside", but there weren't any. Headed back tomorrow and will suggest it although most probably wouldn't give it a thought because freedom and paying taxes. Situation was a bit frustrating, but I left and drove to the water and relaxed.

Maybe having worked in healthcare it's something I'm more aware of and how it can have devastating impacts on someone with copd for example. Guess I'm not totally relaxed yet lol.
