Omg those look so good! Ok, I need to get my stuff back out :)

I went overboard on deep fried oysters, got sick, and lost my taste... after 3 months I think I’ve got it back!

I can almost taste the crispy edges of those lions manes browned in butter

Thank you guys, tomorrow for lunch if not sooner on the LM.

Plus, 2 bags of King oysters getting big enough for photos.

These bags are outside, on a plastic shelf with heavy shade cloth supported by a PVC frame. Overhead sprinklers water the general area they are in.

Nice Kings! I always get these huge stipes with tiny pileus! I still need to figure my FAE/humidity, high altitude deserts really make things difficult.

I’ve been saving this recipe for when I grow king oysters. This is a “scallop” recipe. (Just wanted to share)

Mushrooms rule! I eat mushrooms in one meal or more just about every day......

The Maitake, Hen of the Woods, is my favorite.......

Nice job Yoshi...

When should I harvest reishi? I've got to say, reishi are some amazingly resilient mushrooms! I have a tub of reishi outside under a double layer of shade cloth, it is currently making "antlers" due to lack of FAE. The amazing part, our day time temps have ranged from about 100F-116F, some nights only dropping to 75F for weeks and the reishi is still growing!

Beautiful right there, I'm a HUGE Polypore fan, fast colonizers... SLOW fruiters, but MAN... they are astounding.

Wow, Reishi are some tough mushrooms! They fruited through 110F+ temps, FAE only from holes stuffed w/Polyfil and soaking wet substrate from overhead sprinklers. I know that "antlers" are not the proper form for Reishi but they look really cool! They look like some sort of alien landscape or something from Dr. Suess and the banding is awesome! They have a unique feel, tough and a bit leathery. I tried harvesting by pulling away from the substrate, it worked for a few. The rest had to be cut off, the mycelium was like tearing spongey leather.

Whoever recommended Reishi for building materials was spot on!

I'm a FANboy of Polypore mushrooms, Nice Antlers Yoshi, Reishi and Turkey Tail are fun to grow.  Fast colonizers SLOW fruiters.  The price we pay to play with polypores.
