All taken under a 4 / 0.10 digital microscope lens.

4 unique strains.  Very similar visual results.  Chunks of debris.

Appreciate any feedback relative to all clear, definite contamination, etc.

Thanks!

All I can see are small, blue-ish bits of tissue.

Bacteria and yeast are easy to see at 400-x magnification. I don't see any in your sample but then it looks like you're using lower power.

Thx Myc.  Guess I need a better lens?  Using an OMAX ~$200 scope.  As stated, those images were at a 4.  I have a 4, 10, 40, 100.  Just tried again, and I cannot clarify on the 40 or 100.  Recommendation?  If I can't clarify on a 40 or 100, how would a 400x work?  Is this simply pilot error?

Thanks in advance, obviously not well versed in microscopy.

Your objective 4,10,40 or 100 is multiplied by 10x as this is the normal eye-piece magnification.

40x, 100x, 400x, or 1000x -

I can't begin to guess as to why you are unable to obtain focus.

Maybe research some tutorials on your particular setup? There is lots of helpful stuff out there.

Keeping an eye on this thread because I'm getting a microscope really soon. I hope you continue to share your explorations!

Buy something used.

Look for a 'research grade" microscope.

Amscope is the name on Amazon and they suck ass. Period. I've tried their knock-off garbage and will never do business with them again.

The best is Carl Zeiss optics - but that shit is enormously expensive.

The Japanese made some comparable optics in the late 70's and the 80's. Good luck finding one of these used 'scopes.

A microscope - comparable in quality to the one that I bought used, off of Ebay for $150 - would cost me $4K to replace today.

Wait 'til people start suffering from this economic shut-down. Capitalize on the available surplus.

Hell, you might get one for trade for a roll of toilet paper if you wait long enough.

Ok, have somewhat of an update...really cool spores observations.

Still need to advance the research for LC microscopy real time bacteria identification.

Hey Myc, and team, how about now?  Clean?  Other thoughts?
