LK's are getting bigger after the dunk I did a some days back, not far from a decent 1st flush, and dunk again. I'm gonna chop the caps off that are open within the clusters to allow the others to mature.
I notice pins in the middle but can't quite understand why they haven't grown, my only thought is they aborted or they are the next flush waiting.
Either way......
Baph is happy and grateful.

It has come to my attention that I have to move within 30 days.
I have 2 trays fruiting and 9 lbs. of grain ready to transfer.
How long can I keep colonized bags in the fridge?
And what's my best way to deal with the ones fruiting?

Colonized bags of grain put in the fridge will slow way down and keep for quite some time. They will also fruit right in the bags too if the grains are nice and clean and left...an amazing organism indeed.....

Harvest fruits before your move and pack your tray's/chambers in clean garbage bags, seal with zip ties, and take em with you....always REMEMBER STEALTH.....

Obviously they can't be left that way long but they'll be OK making the journey with you....

Don't let them bake inside a truck or car though...... just my .02 cent.....

Good vibes man!

A

Looks like overlay to me which would signal a bacteria contaminate. Mycelium will often form dense myc around infected areas to stop the spread.

Was the instrument you used to scrape it with sterilized for 90minutes at 15psi?

Believe it or not I have a update on this thread.
If any of you remember, back on June 3rd I thought I was going to have to move.
So I started with 4 bags in the beginning. 2 of those bags were cased and from the pics above I had moderate success, anyway, so I thought I was gonna have to move. I put the 2 remaining bags in the refrigerator and commenced to closing shit down.

A lot of things has happened in these past 4 months, but I got the moving situation dealt with and didn't have to move after a 3 month ordeal and so life moved on a bit a I enrolled in school and really just kinda let the bags hang out in my fridge for 3 1/4 months. One day my woman got on my ass about the bags in the fridge and I was all alright, alright and took them out and just set them on my speaker to warm up.
Few days go by and I noticed they started perking back to life, so I crumbled both bags up, one reconciled within 4 days. I waited for almost another week and thought to myself let's do what I originally wanted to do which was grow in the bags and got my verm all ready.

I took the one bag that didn't look fully colonized and just put it in my closet. I then took and put my hair back in a pony tail, didn't wear a mask or hair covering. Only thing I did was sterilize the scissors, the bag where I was gonna cut and the rubber glove I had on. I then cut the bag and added some verm, misted it and then clipped it shut.
I should add I did this in my bathroom which is not a recommended place to do such work. I placed the bag back on my speaker and about week later I noticed a few pins and about shit myself.
I forgot about the one in the closet only to open the closet and pull the other bag that wasn't fully colonized and low and behold there was a couple mushrooms in that one. So I waited up until today to see if the one I neglected, fruits would gotten bigger. They didn't, so I snagged them and put some verm in that bag this morning only to find a few more already growing.

I misted the one with the most fruiting until I noticed it keeping its own environment.
Now I just open it for FAE 3 times a day.
The one just cased today will get the same manner.
@pastyoureyes was the one that I can remember, that solidified the idea of fruiting in bag grows.
And so here I am with a few pics.

It's called invitro fruiting when you fruit from inside the bags/jars and is intended to be fully automated so neglect and forget and both lizard king (lk) and golden teachers (gt) are excellent at invitro.

Hopefully you snag up some prints of the lk because they're a hard to find p.cubensis.

Where did you order the syringe of that one from again?

I've seen semi colinized substrates fruit perfectly fine many times before but be warned it's usually a result of bacteria, still the fruits will be fine to consume.

Awesome progress update baptom3t

@FunG, I thought of invitro as being a bit different....kinda like truffles and shit.
But I'm totally cool with what's going on. I never really tried to fruit in bags before.
The LK seems really healthy. There's some "myc piss" but I know that's a secondary metabolite to help . No smell of anything but mushroom. The GT smell the same.
LK spores were from a isolate of LK and I'm not good with knowing that it would be considered a MS or ISO grow in the bag I have. Either way I plan on taking prints upon harvests.
@FunG, I will shoot you a message about where I got it from. I still have 3cc's of this LK left, so I plan on doing more.
The GT was fully colonized when I grabbed it out of the closet, and it looked and smelled just right when I put the verm on it today.
I'll keep updating progress as it moves along.

I'm far from the first person to fruit in bags. It seems like we are doing things a little differently. Are you just casing the grains in the bag with verm? That's what it sounded like.
What I did was spawn to a separate fruiting vag from the one I did the grains in. I used poo and coir substrate. Pretty much the same way I spawn to a tub. I found tubs to be easier to work with and got better results.

It's cool that you were able to keep them in the fridge so long and still be able to fruit them.

@pastyoureyes, you solidified the idea and I went on to do more research, and yeah I am just adding 100% verm to the grains.
I'm not looking to do any tubs since I live in a really small place but I'll be doing those once I move into a bigger place.
I'm looking forward to seeing how many flushes I get and what the weight will be.

I wouldn't bother comparing bags with a tub. The tub will generally yield more. You get what you get and you dont get upset. The benefit of bags in my mind is ease of cleanup. When you spot some green just toss the whole thing. No tubs to clean.

I'm not bothered comparing bags to tubs. I certainly know tubs generally produce more.
Honestly, I'm kinda in aw to see them fruiting after being in the refrigerator for 3 1/4 months.
I wasn't expecting to see what I'm seeing and thought, what happens, happens.
I'm just curious to know how many flushes and the weight of those flushes after those bags being in the fridge for so long.
Either way, I'll be very happy and thankful with what I get from them
But I'm definitely liking the idea of convenience with the cleanup.

Above pic from last night during FAE.

The nice cluster in the 6 - 7 O'clock position in the above pic turned out looking like this, this morning.
purty.jpg
IMG_20201004_115454.jpg

I'm starting to wonder how I'm going to harvest these clusters with the least damage to the substrate. I've considered cutting caps off on the ones that mature for spore prints while letting the reaming cluster grow until the majority is ready.
I will be "plugging" any open areas of sub after harvest.
The LK really seems to love growing in clusters.

*drooling*

Those are going to be some nice sized boomers by the time they reach peak maturity.

Lk are potent too, I remember alot of color spectrum changes reds/yellows/blue hues the times I ate them. Pretty groovy strain to veg out on....not as intense as gt or b+ but the visuals are where it's at anyways, for me atleast.

Can we expect a trip report come time?

LK is crazy growing to say the least. It's even more crazy they sat in my refrigerator for 3 1/4 months and are growing like they are, but yet here we are.

That's awesome man, active cultures will stay viable for a very long time in a fridge. The mycelium goes dormant until it comes back to life at room temp as your seeing.

I'm wondering if those are ok though cause I recall the caps being a faint sunburst with alot of grey in the caps....they were ones that stood out to me from other cubensis.

Wait until you see how blue they bruise, that's the other trademark of the lk syringe I had, the fruits would bruise a really light but dark deep blue....bad explanation but you'll see come harvest time which should probably be eight now if those pics are from 12 hours ago :)

@FunG, The caps may look different due to a shitty camera phone, light coming from behind in all pics, but the last, or reflection from angle, but the very last pic in today's update is with the flash on my camera. I think it's the camera I have.
They are sitting not even 5 feet away from me and I see the beautiful mush color I'm always use to seeing.
What bruising I've seen in the bag is dark blue. The color from the ones you got may have been from how they were harvested.
I know some folks just rip it out with little to no care and some folks like to treat the fruit gently and cause as least bruising as possible and that can lead a lot to the coloring you could be describing.
Since I posted the update earlier, I'm thinking it's time to cut the cap off my tallest one and print it.
I maybe be cutting a few more caps off by tonight for prints.
Just to be clear, this is the first flush in this bag.

This morning has been a great morning.
After being inoculated on april 29th, then being put in my refrigerator for 3 1/4 months.
I am happy to say my first flush of LK produced 193.14 grams.
Here's a few pics from before harvest to weight. I have an overall shitty camera so I use flash in a couple of these.

IMG_20201006_083457.jpg

IMG_20201006_093621.jpg

Now onto the next flush.
Once they dry I will clean them up better and I'll lose a bit of weight there but no big deal.
