I used to do that with popcorn, definitely a route to take .

I’ve started to see a little water pooling up at the bottom of my grain jars afternoon I open the PC up the next morning . I just shake them up and let it redistribute . Should be a good thing since the jars I was doing a month ago were on the dry side with myc stalling or going super wispy .

This is a status update on those first few jars I did. Still seems kinda slow or maybe I’m impatient ?

Seems fine to me. I'd just let it do its thing. Unfortunately I don't have any oat spawn going atm to compare with (except for 2 PE jars that are old enough to be blobbing and fruiting in vitro).

Here's some of my oat from beginning to end.

Oat works reasonably well. Not sure I see much difference between rye, oat, and WBS. They all have their in's and outs to me.

Edit: comparing our grains mine are a bit more cracked

Thanks for the comp Rocky. I am making adjustments today I got a new cooler, the old styrofoam one I had was beat and lost it’s seal so it was losing some heat and steam . Will have more to repeat tomorrow .

Yeah that new cooler was still piping hot an hour later . They were just a little softer than yesterday’s batch .

These guys are going into a tub today . They looked like they were probably ready two weeks ago . These are two of the 90 min steep, they had a cc or two of PE LC.

Seems kind of long for an lc spawn run .

I have some Hawaiians in half pint cakes I’m going to need to get the slurry blender lids made up soon.

Looking  a little bacterial to me, or I always assume bacterial when you get that puffed myc look (jar on right). Should get ya some fruits still.

Yeah that one looked a little wet spotty . I didn’t actually use those jars they were just an example of the spectrum I got from that batch.
