I did not plan on growing this year so I could attend one of the largest family reunions in the USA.

I am not going after all, 50% of the people are 60+, hundreds too.  So it is cancelled(in a red state too).  So maybe next year.

The White Widow seeds I started on May 5 where dead.  They were actually 4 years old, maybe 5.  My bad.

I have 4 feminized Cali OG Kush-Haze seeds that are brand new from Crop King.

I am optimistic about the germ rate.

So I am using Twoguysupnorth's method of sprouting precious seeds.

I poured some bottled mineral water into a dish.

Crop King recommends mineral water.

I dropped my four feminized Cali OG Kush-Haze seeds into the water.

I should see something in 4 days.

I will 1/2 fill 10oz plastic cups with Fox Farm Ocean Forest, FFOF.

Scoop sprouted seeds as they appear into their own cup and cover 1/4" deep.

I should be able to say hello to the sprout in a few days.

I will be growing outdoors as per my method last year.

Soon, I will be toting pots in and out until October.

I will start off under CFL initially.

I think I am finally growing a plant on the strong Haze side of the equation.

I probably haven't grown this close to it since I grew Meigs Gold back in 2010ish.

I am so looking forward to smoking this.

It has been a long time since I started the thread.  The germination did not go well.

The first 4 seeds never popped.  I waited a week.

So I put 12 bagseed into a plate of mineral water.  I had accumulated the seed mostly from a Sour Diesel fem'd plant from a few years ago.

I then put the last 3 Cali-Haze seeds into the first dish with the unpopped 4.

The bagseed began to pop on day 3.  Over around a week 9 of 12 popped.

I planted each seed as they popped into a 12oz cup of FFOF.

One of the Cali-Haze popped and a rootlet with a brown tip emerged.

I planted the questionable sprout into a cup of FFOF too.

The Cali-Haze seed sprouted around 4 days later, success.

Now I don't have to abandon the thread.

CaliHaze 6-13-2020.jpg

The plant on the end is the CH.

Grow 6-13-2020 (2).jpg  Grow 6-13-2020 (1).jpg

8 of the bagseed sprouted.  Now I have to wait for the sexes to show.

I read that studies of cannabis populations suggest the actual male/female ratio is 35:65 and not the assumed 50:50.  That being the case, 65% of 8 seeds is 5 females.  Place your bets.

As for my poor germination of fem'd Cali-Haze, I called Crop King.  I told them I used TwoGuysUpNorth's method and explained all of the above.

I did not get too far though.  I was told that fem'd seed should only be in the water for overnight.

Then it is the wet towel in a plate trick until roots start to appear.

Fem'd seed can water log and should not be left in the shallow water.

So I promised that I would follow their outlined method.  I am getting replacement seed.

I don't know when it will be, but the next grow log will feature the Crop King Germination Method.

So the thread needs the longer title of Dipole Grows Bagseed and One Feminized Cali OG Kush-Haze.

Thanks for checking out the thread.  I am sorry that I do not post very much.  I am not good enough at shrooms to offer worthy comments,  I have been only growing cannabis outdoors, so I grow once a year.

Nice to see you still at it dipole! I'm gonna ride the journey with ya.

All the plants got transplanted into small pots over the weekend.  I filled them with FoxFarmOceanForrest.

Today I started the bend the bigger ones over.  Time to make colas.

The Cali-Haze is looking good.

One of the bagseed looks like crap.  Bad genes, any ideas???

Bagseed 22Jun2020 (2).jpg

I probably should not waste anymore FFOF on that "thing".

They are looking good Dipole (with the one exception).

If that one bagseed plant has had identical soil and feedings as all your others, it can't be fault with the nutes or environment. It looks like it's losing its chlorophyll and growing weaker.

I am no expert, but I would probably call it a loss myself, and invest my time and money in the healthy plants.

They ought to take off now that they have been re-potted in my favorite soil blend.

Except for the one odd bagseed plant, the rest of the grow is looking good.

The grass looks terrible, I should water it.  ....and a few closer shots.

The Cali-Haze is looking very healthy

Dipole Cali-Haze 6-26-2020 (2).jpg

So as you can see all the plants are bent over.  This will get the side branches to catch up with the meristem.

Now I am waiting for the plants to show their sex.

I hope this doesn't take too long.  I will probably have to transplant one more time before the plants show.  It usually take around 5 weeks

I have been so remiss.

So way back in July... 13th that is:

A group shot of the grow.  All were still of known sex.  No reveal party yet.

IMG_20200713_194718.jpg

IMG_20200713_194730.jpg

IMG_20200713_194740.jpg

The only known female, the Cali-Haze.

IMG_20200713_194758.jpg

I was able to transplant her into the next pot up.

Actually, within a few day 3 plants showed female, so I was able to transplant them too.

The remaining 4 plants took a couple more weeks to show.  I was worried that they might be hermie.  The all ended up male, lots of green balls were busting out in the cola.  They

ended up in the garden waste barrel to become good community of Ventura compost.

So my 4 survivors.

This is the plant with the messed up chlorophyll.

IMG_20200817_111303.jpg

So more time goes by and I am chilling under by avocado tree, watching the grow.

The plants got flipped to 12/12 on August 15th.

Today I took some more pics.  The girls are flowering.

Sorry, upload error, I posted and will continue.

So here are the girls.

IMG_20200827_172700.jpg

This is the Cali-Haze, she is pretty, wish all four were like her.

IMG_20200827_172718.jpg

And then there is the messed up plant,..  It is female, barely.

IMG_20200827_172756.jpg

Well Skywatcher, what the hell.  I decided to see what this poor thing can do, so I moved her into a bigger pot.

Oh, I forgot.  I have been using Fox Farms Ocean Forest,  The local nursery has been out for a while now.  I used E.B Stone Ultimate for the second to last transplant, all out now, and Recipe 420 for the last transplant, almost out.  I switched the plants to 12/12 the day after the last transplant.

The people of Ventura are clearly starting to grow weed.  The people at the nursery know full well too.  Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more.  As he said knowingly.

Nice update Dipole. How have your plants been handling the heat? I am in the inland empire and probably hotter but I have been having a bad year dealing with heat stress.

I am glad the odd plant has been hanging in, and actually looks better from that last shot.

Looking forward to the finish pics.........................

same as have my 3 vanilla frosting and 1 is showing bad heat stress, and others light light minor. But my other strains gelato 41 is doing fine but I think because I have pot in Tall grass and it’s giving it shade a bit. I was told to get wood and put it against my pot to help the heat from the roots and soil. Shouldve listned. Thinking of doing it this week. That or moving mine in shady spot with more shade. Idk anyone have thoughts at that? Heat stress what to do to help after it already happened? And my other strain triple cheese and delicious doing great too no heat stress like the Vanailla

It only of up into upper 80's, very humid.

Plants showed no issues.  I wrap aluminum foil around the pots.

It keeps the roots cool.

Well the forecast is for 90's here in Ventura.  Tomorrow will be a scorcher, but not an insane 114, ouch.

I hope the grow doesn't hate it too much.  It is flowering nicely now.

Well I have chopped down 3 of the 4 plants I grew this year.  The grow was bug and bot rot free.  I hope I did not over brown the Cali and the first bagseed plant.

I have pictures, but I am unable to upload and share.  The files sizes are too big.  Sorry, until I know what I can upload you can only guess what my grow ended up looking like.

The Cali-Haze seemed to ripen up faster than the other plants, but they are all about the same.

CaliHaze.jpg  CaliHaze Cola.jpg

2 of the 3 bagseed plants ripened up too.

Bagseed 1.jpg  Bagseed 1c.jpg

Bagseed 2.jpg  Bagseed 2c1.jpg  Bagseed2c2.jpg

The last bagseed is still finishing up.

Bagseed3.jpg  Bagseed 3c.jpg

The root balls were lightly filled with roots.

Rootballs bs1 cali.jpg

The plants look a bit messy, there is a lot of cleanup to do.  The small, dead fan leaves were not easy to remove, so I left them on.

I managed not to get any bot rot on any of the plants!  And no bud worm either!.

I chopped down the last plant.  I was a bagseed plant.  Plumped up a bit.

Two colas caught some bot rot so I decided I better quit while I am ahead.

Bagseed 3.jpg  Bagseed 3c.jpg

I have to dry them out a while.
