Temperature doesn't play much of any role in cube fruiting as far as I know.....that's looking really good man!

Day 22.

So I got this Energizer light.

20200801_203715.jpg

I got tacky and used duct tape. Neither worked. I ended up putting the screw the lid.
20200801_221514.jpg 20200801_221517.jpg
I sterilized my packing peanuts in a Lysol bath before adding to FC.

This is still the tape, but it glows in the dark. Cool effect.

Starting to get pretty nervous now.

10 days since I introduced fruiting conditions, and I barely have any primordia.

In the meantime, the other substrate, which was spawned from a grain to grain from the jars THIS was spawned with is almost already fully  colonized and is producing pre pins already.

Idk what my issue is.

What’s your misting & fanning schedule like? Evaporation is one of the major pinning triggers, you could try some extra fanning for a couple days.

What is the temperature?

Does it look and smell healthy otherwise?

Mist and air every 2-3 hours.

12/12 light. 74-82°F.

It smells fine.

Looking at my other sub, the way it's Colonized is VASTLY different. This sub is colonized with more whispy mic through the sub, leaving it a brown-ish whereas my other sub is dense hyphae wrapped around the surface of the sub.

I feel like it's not as healthy because I sterilized it on accident instead of pasteurization???

Also, the first week of colonization, my thermometer hadn't arrived yet, so it got into the 90°s frequently at the beginning of it's life.

Once I got to the week mark I picked up fanning and misting.

Ok... So a lot of information.

The first pic is the substrate of this thread. The second pic was a sub spawned from a grain to grain of the jars that spawned this sub. So it's about 2 weeks younger.

The third pic is an outdoor grow also spawned from the grain to grain.

As you can see. Tons of fruits popping up outside.
My oldest substrate as you can see now doesn't look as white as the pics above. I have almost 0 primordia on the top, just the  few side pins from the previous post.

So... The old substrate... I may have used too much bleach, and I think that's retarding growth. The 3rd photo also had a bleached sub (the outdoor) and it's producing these weird spotted fruits.

My other grain to grain indoor sub has primordia all over it, and you can't see in the photo, but it has two pins, and they're really darkly colored... Is this ok...

I don't understand my problems. I've increased air 1000 fold. I got a fan on them. (I know. The fan is sanitized every day, and it's in the fruiting chamber which is immaculately clean.

There's no contams. No smells. No blue, green, dark cobwebby anything.

I'm really confused and maybe have too much going on here. HALP!!!

What is the relative humidity in that fruiting chamber? They look dry to me.........I would mist the walls of the tub...

Water them outdoor boomers with a spray bottle on mist while you're at it. You can even throw a nice sparse layer of green grass/weeds over that outdoor grow and keep it misted well....

Sunshine and most mushrooms do not get along well......we find most mushrooms out in the wilds in the deep damp shade......those outdoor shrooms are looking good....need some water perhaps...

I have no way of measuring humidity... What's an affordable device?

The outdoor boys get PLENTY of water. They're in my garden. Lol

Also, they're already sprouting outside. Received some heavy rain and lots of mud and eggshells fell on it. That caused them to pop off insane. I'll mist the indoor dudes.

Mist the inside of the fruiting chamber NOT directly on the cake or pins.......Wet paper towels inside a fruiting chamber make a great humidifier........
