I have an inexplicable urge to take a photo of a destroying angel, and then another photo of a mushroom taco, and then make a post saying that I just ate this delicious taco but now am feeling a little weird and asking for a mushroom identification.

 

But I love you guys

I got a text from a friend like that a couple of weeks ago, and it was for real.

 

The photo of the mushroom he'd taken a little bite of even showed the bite marks. By the time he'd texted me he'd already regretted his insanely bad judgment and made himself puke a bunch of times and then he downed a bunch of activated charcoal. The photo he sent was definitely of an Amanita, and it was all white, but it was not a good enough photo to tell for sure which species it was.

 

I told him that the next time he found a mushroom he had an urge to take a bite out of to text me about it  before taking the bite.
