Good evening Schroomies!

I would like to introduce you to my first pin, from my first batch:

steve the pin.jpg

His name is Steve and he weighs in at .0000021 grams.

Steve was conceived in the backseat of a Chevy Nova on Sept. 20, 2020 (boy was that a fun night!). It was touch and go there for a little while but Steve has pulled through and now I'm just waiting on his brothers and sisters to arrive.

I was under the impression that my jars stalled as you see the verm layer at the top but I just stayed patient as I read here that the cakes can shrink and the protective layer could fall down the sides which I think is what happened. The jars were packed pretty loosely so maybe I will fill in a little bit more next time.

I plan to keep Steve invitro, from what I understand about Invitro, I could open this up and shake out the verm layer to give it more space and then flip the jars. Am I correct on this? There are some write-ups saying I could also just leave it alone, but I think Steve is a big boy and will need more room.

Can I hear from some experts on this?

I couldn't have done it without this place, thank you!

/me hands out cigars

Noooo!! Not another boy! There's enough boys around here! Lol if you decide to let him out just flip the cake on the lid and put it in a sterile rubbermaid tub with a layer of perlite or vermiculite in the bottom.. perlite is better in my opinion but verm will work too..
Welcome to topia and good luck!

Thanks!

I have a FC ready to go, but shouldn't I dunk them first if I am going to pull them out Mrs. Hippie?

Roll them in wet verm or just open, remove loose verm, maybe rinse, then put in bin?

(sorry, there is a lot of conflicting information I've been reading about this part)

Rolling them in moist verm will help a lot.  It will hold the moisture when they are misted.

Steve wanted a bigger place to raise a family so I got him a nice little apartment he now shares with his wife Cheryl and their daughter Misty. The landlord won't fix the dehumidifier so the RH is at a constant 96% but the temp is always around 72 degrees and it is close to the bus routes so they don't complain at all.

They even have a bunch of wacky neighbors in the same complex. This sitcom is going to be GREAT!!

Thanks for the inspiration shroomies!

Was this your first grow? Howd it go? What strain is it btw? Looks good for a PF tek, next step is spawning to bulk so you can get a nice field of shrooms.
