Thanks.

So much to learn. And, I am like the young sage who asked of the prophets to be taught the knowledge of the world while standing on one foot. LOL Thanks again

Peace

Here’s the end of some substrates..

Pea+ f1 clone bag 2nd flush.. got away from me while I was at work. oh well..

Pea+ F2 bags done..

I thought they were going to do worse than the 16qt tub I did if the F2 (https://mycotopia.ne...1611889626.jpeg) but I think they did better... they really turned around after I poked the extra holes for FAE (not very easy to put more holes in a tub mid-fruiting lol) and separated the bag from the sides of the subs. Here they are together (which is the same amount of sub as the tub)..

The PE/pesa and PE/apeu are coming up next along with pea+ f4 and an F2 of the PE/pfrs purple spore... all in 1/2 pint tester jars and cakes but should still be fun :)

The PE/pesa cake has a nice cluster going. The other cake looks ready and has a bunch of knots

The PE/RW cakes 2nd flush pushing out a mix of white pins and pigmented.. hoping at least one of them is a straight RW so I can jar up a print

I done effed up, I knocked over my water bag cuz I'm an idiot and didn't understand your written directions...Knew this would happen as soon as I saw your posted tek. (don't try and float a container in the water lol)

I had a ton of pins under the casing for whatever reason and they all looked to be PE. Here's the mangled cake headed to the great compost in the sky.

Yeah I had colonized a 1 cup container and wanted to increase humidity so just dropped in a ziploc full of water. Was working great till I went to open the bag for fresh air and my clumsy ass knocked it.

Today’s updates..

The PE/pesa cv/brf (all my of cakes will be cv/brf from here out—they out perform just verm consistently) cakes. That cluster is looking real nice and the 2nd cake started pinning
16476596-C558-4D69-BCDE-2B5EDEB5E846.jpeg

The PE/RW 2nd flush.. interesting that I didn’t see any white pins the first flush but I’m glad there’s some this round
8B809A1B-7203-4936-80FC-17ADFEDC4AA2.jpeg

Coupla jars in a water tub. The top 1/2 pint cv tester jar is PE/apeu (really excited for these if only because it’s going to be easy to discern a hybrid if I see white fruits with pigmented spores) and the bottom is PE/pesa.. both appear to be on the verge of knots/pins. I usually put ~1/4” top layer of cv when I make the jars and then when I see knotting start on the top or sides, I’ll throw another 1/8” cv layer on there (late case) to give those knots a nice warm and cozy place to form into pins.. might have jumped the gun a tad early with these by a day or two as I don’t usually want to see that 2nd cv layer this colonized but I’m sure it’ll be aight

Ok.. so here’s one of PE/pesa cakes done:

Is it a hybrid? Who the hell knows lol. Like I said, I knew this would happen with these.. I’m printing the big guy in the cluster and just going to have to see what happens when I take them to the next gen in October. Statistically speaking there’s a good chance but I’m not comfortable saying I think they are for sure like I was with pea+ or the PE/crs or PE/pfrs

I still have another cake and the 1/2 pint cv tester jars are pinning
AEECEA0A-29B5-4F4B-B9A1-2A9A60A4F83E.jpeg

^^^bottom one is PE/pesa and the top one is PE/apeu (those pigmented fruits are going to interesting since Apeu is an albino and these are pinning at normal times and not PE times)

PE/RW cakes 2nd flush today:

Right?
Faht, it's like you run some late night cooking special where your just constantly cooking grains and brf cakes and cross breeding 17 different strains. It seems like every day you've got a new finished cross breed popping out the oven.

Always awesome to see though.

Oh don’t be fooled... I’m completely worn out. If these were just regular grows, I’d have been done a month ago. I’m almost done though.. the only things left are the PE/apeu, pea+ f4, and a PE/pfrs purple spore F2 (just to see if I get both purple and red spore fruits). And they’re all in lil tester jars or cakes. Then I’m done for 6 months.. at least. I’m so ready lol

But I guess it goes to show how easy the method is... there’s no guess work.. no agar transfers where I grab myc hoping it’s hybrid myc and spending a month and a half growing that out to find it’s not.. thatd be so disappointing lol. On that note.. here the PE/RW second flush (2 of the 3 cakes)

I feel called out...but yea I'm so burnt out with all my jars and agar plates with possible crosses. I've become very lazy and get excited when I lose a jar from my own clumsiness or from cutting corners. I also put a bunch in the fridge to come back to at a later day. Worst comes to worst I'll have a bunch of swabs/prints for whomever.

I really need to just focus on gourmets as that's my major goal.

Haha.. definitely wasn’t directed at anyone in particular.. just in the way things have been done for a while, but you still get mush so it’s not a loss.. just can’t see myself sticking with something like that, so I commend you for putting yourself through that for the good of the community :). Laziness is definitely the mother of invention.

Just funny timing to me. I really see myself adopting clean spores to grain, checked on 1-2 plates of agar. Instead of working the agar, just check it's a clean print and proceed to grain or LC.

Was about to post an update on mine showing the agar taking to the grain, but pretty sure my grain greened out. Damn, first time I got it on grain. Only seen it on final final flushes especially manure/hay...Now It's on agar and everywhere!

Just some update pics.

PE/RW 2nd flush cake... the one white pin turned upward and I think I’m going to get a print :)

PE/apeu tester 1/2 pint.. I thought I made these in the 12th but I guess it was the 2nd.. so these could very well just be PE.. no white pins in this guy. The 2 cakes are looking like they’re ready to start fruiting. I saw white invitro pins (that I removed predunk) so there’s hope for something from those

Second PE/pesa cake.. this guy got over-watered.. currently leaving the top unzipped quite a ways for the night to dry ‘er out a bit

The white guy from the PE/RW is dropping rusty spores and printing it now.. really excited about that. Hope it’s straight RW :)
EF428707-8AFD-4719-8DD0-E24B10A7B8A4.jpeg

Nothing jumping out with the PE/pesa and PE/apeu tester jars.. looks like the PE/pesa are going to drop spores. Jury is still out in the PE/apeu if they’ll produce/drop spores.. probably not going to print any of these because I just don’t know what’s up.. they look like normal fruits for the most part. The PE/apeu cakes are pinning so I’ll be printing at least one fruit from them and I already got a PE/pesa print from their cakes

Got my rusty print! It was on the outside of a normal pigmented cluster so it might be a hybrid.. guess it’ll be interesting to see what grows from it

I’ve definitely been thinking about it.. I’m about to have more room so it’s down to what my significant other says about having a Martha in the house.. I think if I take pans up I’d really want to go full bore with it.

The pea+ f4 are pinning nicely
954A35BF-B367-4737-A5B6-4E2EA079B3E3.jpeg

I think from f4 and beyond for any cross phenos, I’ll be doing a handful of these jars.. as long as a good amount of the fruits exhibit the pheno I’m trying to isolate/stabilize, going spores —> small amounts of grain —> these 1/2 pint cv jars is the fastest possible way for me to stabilize. If I can get a gen done in ~30-35 days, stabilizing will be pretty quick.

These prints jars (https://mycotopia.ne...rinting-method/) really make all the difference when I don’t have to worry too much about the print being clean and go straight to grain with the spores (I’m sure they’re not 100% spotless but they’re clean enough to do what those jars above ^^^ are doing)
