I should say that I’ve been using 1:3 sub ratio with markedly better results than 1:2… I’d say it’s more like 1:4 if you include the colonized peat casing. More water reserve = better flushes. Especially if you want to do one and done grows.. you need a higher water reserve to pull all the fruits out of the sub for the amount of grain used in one flush. Just some observations

Tubs 5 and 6 are a new untested clone from this year.. the donor fruit was a single fat fruit from a baggie



Probably won’t grow those ^^^ guys out again.. there’s better options available. Although, I’ll keep the culture around just in case they’re incredibly potent.. ya never know

Tubs 7 and 8… not much going on with 9 yet.. this cultures been known to be spotty but it’s stupid potent so it’s worth keeping around

How tub 9 is shaping up.. definitely the runt of the litter.. this culture is known to be spotty. It’s the same one from last season.. some tubs were banging, some so-so like this one. I got the culture from a tiny piece of leading edge myc off a half colonized pf cake two years ago so there’s at least a couple sub strains in there, so I think that’s what’s going on. Probably have to take this tub 2 flushes but I’ll eventually get it out of the sub.


Prepped coir for 3 BK melmak tubs tonight.. going to post those in this thread


The culture was gifted to me by a friend so I’m going to do a little playing around with sub construction to see what it likes.. going to run one like I would a PE tub, one regular mixed with a 1” compressed top layer and the last one I’m going to do laymixed with a 1.5” compressed top layer

The same friend gave me a TP (thick penis) melmak culture and I’ve got 4 qts of that I just shook today so I’m excited for those as well


Still have 5 pec3 tubs coming up.. 2 of which just started pinning. :)

Tub 11… gonna have to get the goods in more than 1 flush for this guy. These last tubs are pec3 and I’m starting to think they actually prefer a thinner casing.


So far pec4 is the hands down winner this season

Since I don’t need the space, I’m taking some of these tubs to a second flush.. usually get some nice chunkers in round 2

Tub 13.. this was actually my best tub by dry weight.. pretty much all the fruits were solid all the way through. dried down to 95g


Tub 14 fruited a few fruits at a time and wasn’t much for taking pics of but I have it going for a second flush I’ll show when it comes in
