First cobweb on agar ever, 2nd time I've ever seen it in 5 years (long time ago on really wet manure/coir)

 

Hard to get the retroillumination correct.

I was about to put this plate to LC today, and it was clean 24 hours ago...no other plates showed contams...I'm gonna blame Faht on his dirty swab ;)

Can’t win em all :shrug: I’d probably do at least 3 transfers before going to LC.. I’ve never had good luck with regular LC

Really scratching my head as to the vector. Just odd that one plate out of 25 poured contam...

Starting to wonder if my automated set up is blowing into my SAB...oh well I like some troubleshooting, gets boring when you stop taking precautions and everything spawns.

It definitely could have come from the swab.. I swabbed the hell out of the gills so there’s gotta be a mold spore or two picked up here and there. 1 out if 25 ain’t bad though

Thanks! Are you referring to the one I did the “poke” with? That one is doing great.. I’ll post a pic later today when I’m back at home. Probably going to shake it today. Also going to make some more tonight and do a few clones from those 2nd flush tubs

PE really benefits from increased FAE during the last part of fruiting.. I left these cracked about an inch (just put the lid on so it’s slightly diagonal) for the last 15 or so hours.. you can see how dry the tub walls are. It keeps them from getting squishy and smelly and they mature much further

Second pea+ clone tub.. this one I cased with a peat casing and it’s not a fan of casing.. I’m trying a surface scratch to see if it helps in the second flush.. just messing around with it. I’d rather not have to scratch my subs lol

What does this mean besides that it didn't perform as well as you would have hoped? The surface got covered with mycelium but never pinned? The mycelium stopped colonizing under the casing layer and it never pinned? Just trying to understand in case I come across it as well.

Just didn’t pin heavily.. the first p+ tub I did didn’t pin well with a casing either.. these guys are picky when it comes to the fruiting surface too. I still got a decent flush (actually picked a few bigguns that popped up first.. they dried down to 13g) and they’re making up for it in size. I’ll probably end up with 1.5oz which is a 1/2oz less than I would expect with this clone. The tub right above it is the same clone and with that one, I added a 1/2” cv top layer on day 8 after spawning. I’m finding with these that they don’t like a thick top layer and it shouldn’t be fully colonized when it starts fruiting.. if/when I run this clone again, I’ll be adding a 1/2” top layer on day 10 after spawning for best results. This is just with pea+. PE is a different story that I’ve already got figured out

I got some pe tubs I spawned a month ago that still havent pinned. Cased using teds method and the anticipation is killing me haha.
