They are both JOC/Jake. His lab is not his growspacw. Now MY FC is sort of positive pressure when it’s fogging, but that’s a different animal than basically a clean room.

No. I focused on clones of semperviva and honestly I haven’t had any more success with them. I’m trying again.

So is that what youve been working on is cloning semperviva? I think i got a print of that here somewhere? What do you like best about it

Getting things setup to start expanding some truffle and oyster cultures... Just got the new steel workbench built... It is pretty badass!! The little fridge is for culture storage and the larger freezer is running on a PID and is used to store colonized spawn.

There's no mycology Commandment that says we shall not covet our neighbor's heavy duty adjustable steel table (with casters and everything!).

So I'm coveting that table.

Nice clean looking flow hood, too.

Now all I need is 4 concrete blocks so I can get the side table to the level of the work bench... I ordered a drafting chair for working at the work bench, it is taller than I envisioned. I would like to have the side table at the same height if I can figure that out...

I've got a little tiny hidden closet with not enough room. I want a little lab. Clean room. But I'm totally new to this so baby steps into the elevator....

Jrotten. I've wanted to ask about your flow hood. Remember seeing a comment about building one for 200$. Did you make any descriptive post about that? I've got a little paint booth with furnace filter on intakes and a 350 CFM vent fan. I set up my glove box near that to keep any floaters from entering while I load whatever I'm working on into the box. But one of these days I will make a designated flow hood.

That's a big-ass burner there on the left.

Bet it gets warm in there when you fire it up in Summer; I'm assuming that your space has very good ventilation!

That burner hasn't yet been fired up indoors and I am not sure if I'm going to or not. I have killed the larger burners on my stove and the smaller ones wouldn't do the job well enough even if I could fit the cookers under the microwave... I am not going to replace the stove until I renovate this fall or next spring. I haven't yet decided what I'm going to do. I have purchased a few electric hot plates but they don't seem to do well enough. My basement is currently unfinished, though that will change pretty soon, so it is a big space. There is also a window there if I need to ventilate. We will see how it goes... With the HEPAs I have down there which move a lot of air, it shouldn't heat the space so much that it can't be used. It really shouldn't be too much more intense than running burners on a gas-fired stove.

I had one of the members on here fabricate a 30 gal +/- sterilizer for me but I have not had it shipped up yet and will need an electrician to install a special outlet for it. It runs off of a hot tub outlet I believe.

I am looking forward to building a barn with 3 fruiting rooms on my property. Two of the rooms can be fruiting at any given time while the other is open for cleaning. My brother works for the local grocery chain and I am hoping that if I can get yield high enough that he can get me into a room with the chain's produce guys... I have been unimpressed with the chain's oyster mushrooms. It also seems like they are always sold out so that may be an indication that their current provider can not accommodate demand. In the mean time, I am going to frame a dedicated fruiting room on the other side of the basement that is insulated, etc, so I can fruit in a controlled environment but I will need to erect a steel building at some point if I hope to produce enough to meet demand for an operation the size of the grocery chain. To take that step, I will need the larger sterilizer.

I will probably have to have a dedicated shed for that large sterilizer or set it up in the garage. I don't know that I want a unit of that size under pressure in may basement.

I bought two of this kind of burner from Northern Tool many years ago: https://www.vmisales...cast-iron-stove (alternate source: https://www.bbqguys....n-single-burner )

0000054_single-burner-heavy-duty-cast-ir

Northern Tool doesn't carry them anymore, which sucks. I bought mine in 2002, and they both still work great. They are awesome, and adjustable enough to let you blast 35K BTUs to get big cookers up to 15 PSIG real fast and then turn the heat down low and precise enough to not have to babysit a AA941 or a 921 quite so closely. Being individual burners, they allow me to run two 941's at a time which big double-burner propane stoves don't usually allow since the burners are generally too close together.

Mine actually look like this (different valves is all):

portable-propane-9kw-stove-two-or-three-

And this type is available direct from China (not sure the cost + shipping since they want you to inquire): http://www.chenaogri...three-ring.html

They need to be used outdoors or somewhere with a LOT of ventilation. Especially the first few times as the paint burns off.

Mine has 2 burners. THey have been run outside a good bit so the paint is well burnt... I will keep your concerns in mind when I give them a go inside. It is a 1,400 square foot open space so I am not too concerned but I will be wary.

I would strongly recommend active ventilation (a fan).

If the space starts to smell like anything besides water and CO2 then there are fumes present that aren't water or CO2. And there's always a smell when I use these types of burners.

I've been wanting to try this. And it's not technically a custom "grow space" it is more of a cool storage thing.

My mini fridge doesn't work anymore and I haven't had space for it anyway so I've had spores and LC hanging out in my house fridge and it's pretty easy to hide till someone moves the pickles and asks why the box from Shady Dave's garden shop is there. So I found a scrap of flat pvc and made some false bottoms for my door pockets.

Had to swap out hot sauce cuz the Frank's was too tall.

I never wrote up my Hepa.  In the last 6 years since I built it I found out it controversial! lol.

Seriously though, it is one 3/4" sheet of plain plywood, a Flanders Alpha 2000 97.7% 24x24x12 filter I got for $75 on Ebay, and an 8" inline duct fan.  It has a light switch.  I won't even take pictures of how bad it is right now.  I'm due for a massive cleanup, but headed into a break, with a bunch of pans I had started that I really need to get printed first.  I know people say you need a 6" filter and squirrel cage blower, but my design works really well for me and ultimately I'm not out to build a lot of flowhoods, I just want one flowhood that lets me grow whatever I want.
