I cloned a wild oyster found on the stump of a friends former tree. Figured I'd do a little grow along for 2 jars of spawn. I'm using an experimental sub recipe and also going to fruit one of the jars in a mini tub with standard spawn/case/fruit method to see how it does compared to usual bag method.

I put inner tissue to agar and did up to T2 on plates.

Took the T2 and put a couple of wedges to a couple of jars of coffee soaked grain.

It colonized fast! Fully colonized and trying to fruit from the lid on the jars within 2 weeks. It was nice dense myc that was hard to break up.

I spawned one jar @ 5:1 in a 25 qt mini tub to a mix of pasteurized straw, coir, spent coffee, gypsum, and mulch. The spent coffee was ph buffered with hydrated lime.

Second jar was spawned @ 4:1 in a gallon ziplock to same sub.

Cheers!044d13876934923afd6d1533106630a0.jpg6e791be104dc78dd9510e562d3a2ffb3.jpgfbd44873de491c0f0a085265616352d6.jpg

The bag got bacterial contamination. Too much moisture I think.

The tub on the other hand is pinning.913bf2e22fdc3991a97411970599b98d.jpgd2bb0964de32151ae429d7e3a6a1801f.jpg

Been a while since I've updated this. I have harvested and ate them. They were tasty! They ended up getting leggy and pom pom like from not having enough FAE. I got injured and wasn't able to give any of my cultures the care they needed. I've got the clone in storage in the fridge and will probably do another grow soon.e284b130585fe2f9897ef3b690215b56.jpge3d8a647d64a8e4320f7f1c5355ae34a.jpg0c060c2e98cb6d8383192054d656617a.jpg
