I have collected crystals and minerals for a long time. There are a couple of people here that I have had chats with. This thread may peak the interest of other members that collect but have not shared as well as peak others just out of curiosity. This thread is all about its title. Everyone that loves crystals, minerals, and yes that even includes rocks (rocks are made of crystal and mineral) are welcome to post their finds whether it be from a walk along a riverbank or from a place that deals with crystals and minerals. I look forward to seeing what others have been able to find.
Since Christmas, I've been able to have a streak of luck come my way and have received some very beautiful specimens.
These are the newest additions to my collection.

Those are some beautiful crystals Baphom. I like them all, but that is a fantastic cluster of Apophyllite. Yours is brilliant and diamond like. I have one big crystal on a bed of stilbite that is of the green variety.
Apophyllite is one of the high energy crystals that emits a strong high vibration into the room, some call them angel crystals....

I do find a ton of pottery and arrowheads though. I was fertilizing a field and found these today. I thought these would be interesting for you and am too lazy to create a thread using Tapatalk.
You can tell they are trading also cuz apparently different tribes used different marking on pottery. Its usually smooth, lined, or like honeycomb kind of. So to be finding alot of different shards make me think they were trading with each other alot.

Some broken spear action and a Firestone and a skinning tool. I shoulda shared this one. Last one swear. Its dope tho worth the overshare. Also I broke my index finger on my lefthand so. Overlook my finger. "Your wayward pinky is grotesque." LOL that commercial.

Very cool stuff folks.....
Personally I'm a rock hounding fool......in fact I need to plan some trips for this year........
A little bit of the collection.......I share my ground with a bunch of cool rocks and things....Garnets, Quartz, Emeralds, Rubies, Sapphire, and on and on....there's even a little bit of gold in a bottle...
Big old garnets....nothing gem quality yet BUT sooner or later I will stumble upon some clear enough to facet.......another avenue I'd like to explore fully....Lapidary gear is expensive....
I do find very small gem quality garnets in the local streams and from time to time flour gold......
I live in old glacier country so just about everything we have here came from north of us and got seriously pulverized....
Before being deposited in the moraines.......but YOU KNOW....somewhere "upstream"........hahaha
Man I'd love to get into a some serious veins and pockets.....

So I've had a few additions to my collection. I really like the way they feel sitting on my table. The vibrations are quite a rush. There are many different stones. I could name 80-90% of them, but a few I am unsure of.
Here's what my collection is looking like as of right now.
I love crystals. Some of them I've bought. Others were gifted to me. Some I found along trails or riverbanks. I can't wait to go hunting for some lovely stones and gems this spring and summer.

The collection grows.............
Man, I thought the last Apophyllite cluster you showed was beautiful, but the new one on this post is 6+ times bigger, just as brilliant, and just awesome !

Here is my newest addition.
This is Trinitite. It might not look like much but what forms Trinitite is one of the most devastating but, coolest things ever. This Trinitite comes from the Trinity nuclear bomb detonation that occurred on July 16, 1945 in Alamogordo Bombing Range in New Mexico.

Yes, Arathu. It is considered mildly radioactive, but not enough to be problematic. If I touch it I have to was my hands.
It is not advisable to break it up due to the small particles and dust that can be created.

Reminds me of the stuff they find in impact craters from meteors

The other day I was walking around my neighborhood and ran across this rock. Being a rockhound I naturally grabbed it. I was not all impressed with it until I turned it to see crystals.
The crystals look to be quartz, but some have a citrine color to them. I've since looked it over pretty good and see crystals in various places on the rock. It leads me to think this rock has crystals throughout it. Still a pretty cool find for just walking through some alleys in my neighborhood.

It appears to be a shapestone that was cased or cast in a layer of pottery. I haven't done any research yet but if u know why do let me know. I'm like wtf.

My crystal and mineral collection grows. My collection is starting to look really good. Here are my newest ones.
I finally found an Amethyst that doesn't vibrate at a horribly high pitched frequency.
Here's the back.
A simple Quartz crystal that some guy at the Billy Strings show gifted to me.
A nice little piece of Selenite.
Nice piece of rough Sodalite
I think this may be rough Jade, but I am not sure.
Here is a pretty little nugget of Pyrite.
This piece of black Kyanite was screaming my name.
This here is Vanadinite.
This is the back of the Vanadinite.
And finally here is a big ass concretion in one of the parks in my city.
I hope you guys enjoy looking at my collection.
And all of y'all got some pretty stones as well.
I think Arathu nailed your stone Chips101. You can always try and crack it or saw it in half to see what's in it. I'd personally just leave it as is.
Keep bringing them stones.

I had the pleasure of running into a small out of the way gem store in the Shawnee State Park area yesterday and added a few more to my collection.
Hematite
This thing easily weights a few pounds.
Half of a quartz geode
Here is the outside of the geode.
