I see people selling seeds for Papaver setigerum. The plants are supposed to be bushy and produce lots of pods. Has anyone grown these?

Personally, I would avoid having setigerum in my garden. I would be worried about them breeding with my full sized somniferums. From what I have seen other Gardners grow the setigerum looks like a dwarf somniferum. If you are only looking for a shorter bushier plant with more pods then you may consider var. orenetale. if you are interested in a full flavor profile for culinary delights then I don't think setigerum is you cup of tea. I would imagine that since you are asking here on this site, that full flavor would be more appealing than just aesthetics of a dwarf flower.

Thanks, I think I will stay away from setigerum. I don't have enough room to keep it separate.
