Why you gotta over complicate everything LOL. Let me just go grab that dialysis machine from my basement.

I'll play with the gauge. (Edit: Just tilt bottle and half of the holes are exposed to air, very quick drain!)
You got er bud! Same thing when you scale-up to bigger jars. You get that sweet-spot for flow...

Back to that little agar jar that started this thread ...
The agar first colonized and I added sterilized popcorn to that. That to quickly colonized. 4 times I repeated this process and each time I kicked the colonized popcorn out into recipient jars of sterilized grain. They went on to fill in and grow out very fast. Each time i re-added sterilized popcorn to the agar-jar it rebounded immediately.
This is a very powerful little jar!
It contains the Phorce ...and there-in an incredible power to generate mycelium in numbers...repeatedly I'm neither joking or exaggerating.
A weapon of mass inoculation. Big things really do come in small packages...
There's power in a union ... of mycelium

I like how the growth emanates from everywhere at the same time.... at that rate it;s only a matter of time.

And this https://www.welco.ne...200_catalog.pdf is the ultimate in laziness (but I do work in automation so not surprisingly). It looks simple to use and maintain, and is autoclave friendly.......
(Compatible with autoclave sterilization
(WPM2 model) Special order item)....... = $$$$
When I move to running a half dozen fruiting tents for gourmet and medicinals I'll likely be using methods like these, surely some form of LC and a pump.....that's what old farts do.....hahahaha.....
But I'm certain they are/would be considered expensive too.....I need to get my ass busy welding up a barrel sterilizer......

No its to start aged spores on agar and expand them...
Doesn't matter how you "inject" the GLC into your jars/bags.
Goal here is to start-smart on agar have that same small agar-jar be able to inoculate hundreds of jars as GLC...and then repeat several times with same small jar.
But to answer your question fully... yes it is an alternative to using syringes for the same ends. Syringes don't work in my set-up for several reasons. I have lots of syringes of all sizes kicking around including 60 cc ones but through trial and error I know that this route is better for me. It can be done with syringes for sure and works really good that way if you have a very wide needle tip. The chunks of mycelium that come off the colonized popcorn are huge and can easily clog needles. Even the 60 cc syringes have a tiny hole that leads to the needle-tip. Whatever works for ya!
PS: after-thought. With syringes i'm limited to an unwieldy long 60 cc syringe as my maximum output per draw of GLC. With this rig I can do 250 ml extraction , 500 ml , 750 ml etc etc There really is no limit to how much GLC you can pull in one go...

I ordered one today for about 50 bucks comes with controller and power supply. Im going to use it to transfer the water back and forth and make that GLC Dabber thing Hyphe made.
Might be of interest....if you haven't already thought of it.....

Its cheap nothing fancy. Here is a link if you want to check it out. I can probably build a really nice one for a 200 bucks but im simply just looking to transfer water from point A to point B. I dont like how the tubing looks and will probably melt in a pc so i will have to order some silicone tubing and some luerlock/barb fitting so i can attach my 8" sharps. I really like how simple the pump is. Only thing needs sterilizing is the tubing as no part of the pump comes in contact with the fluids. Can't wait to see that rig getting unboxed!

Is popcorn the best grain for GLC? I'm assuming it would absorb less water than other grains during the GLC process.

I believe it is. I have used oats, rye, and you can forget about WBS. Oats and Rye works but does not recover as well as popcorn. WBS you can forget about it because you will clog your syringe everytime unless you use that contraption hype made but then you would need some very small holes. Is popcorn the best grain for GLC? Waylitjim explained it like this ...
Popcorn kernels when soaked and swollen create air-pockets between themselves due to their shape. Cubensis myc fills these gaps thickly.
So when you milk off the GLC you are getting a lot of extra-chunk mycelium coming from those pockets ...as well as the stuff on the grain and popcorn has a large surface area to get covered, Then there's the fact that popcorn is quite substantial and it can be milked over and over and it recovers seemingly better and thicker then before within a short time. It seems to enjoy getting the shower & haircut!
