I went out of town for a week and had a lot going on besides that, so the grain jars spent at least two weeks (maybe more) in the fridge just as they were almost complete. I pulled them out three days ago and they’re finally fully colonized.



I’m gonna pasteurize some coir and wood shavings tomorrow and hopefully make up some bags and/or tubs the following day.

I'm still hanging in there! bags have been colonizing for 15 days, right now I'm pressure cooking some more casing. Didn't quite have enough already made up.

Yoshi, how thick of a casing layer have you been using for these Nats?

I found my aquarium air pump. I'm going to try adding some extra FAE into these bags as they fruit.

Looking good ElPirana, I haven't been using a casing layer lately but when I do, maybe 1/2 - 1"?

It will most likely just eat it. :)

Here is a 3lb bag of Natalensis on WBR and pearled barley that was started on 6/17/22. So far, all the grain has been covered with a layer of thick mycelium. I hope to let it age for a year or until it pushes mush to test if the myc increases in strength.

I was trying for an 'Enigma' like pheno so I cloned a blob piece from a previous grow. Not even a month in a shoebox and I get pins, experiment over.

Thanks rocky! Yeah, I def need to increase FAE, but the current setup is at least producing fruits.

These have been robust, I barely do anything with them and they are growing. I had to move all five bags one day, into a good hiding place while some maintenance was going on, no airflow or anything, and they pulled through without a hitch.

I can’t wait to sample it. These sure bruise very blue, a couple were so dark they almost looked black.
