Forgot to mention one step...

After I ejected the colonized popcorn out of the agar-jar into it's own jar , leaving it back to square one with just colonized agar in it , I introduced more sterilized popcorn to the jar.  I could have just flooded the jar with water to make syringes but I want to milk a jar with no agar (the agar disk can slip out of place with shaking). This way i have my keeper jars of colonized Nat myc with no agar in them for milking and separate from that I have the little agar-jars with their speedy colonizing popcorn...always producing fresh spawn for G2G , GLC , etc.

I've been doing a ton of projects and one of them is Natalensis.

This go around i used a 50/50 casing with sand and ph around 8.3 to really discourage the myc from eating it. Well Nat is a terminator. It ate the casing anyway.

I also put it in my pan green house to see how the massive fae influences the fruits..

Shook up my agar jars of colonized Nats and ejected the grains into a clean jar. Reloaded the agar jars with sterilized popcorn.
Put the milking  wheel on the broken up jar of Nat popcorn.
Flipped that and attached it to the sterilized water jar.
Tightened the connections.
Flipped over and let water run into myc.
Shook vigorously.
Flipped back over to drain.
Unhooked milking wheel and removed grain jar off the myc water  jar.
Put lid on myc jar. Put breather lid on drained popcorn jar.

So the milked jar of Nats should recover pretty quick. I have 200 ml of thick mycelium water. I made up a lid with a luer-loc syringe tip pushed through a hole and glued. I cut the plastic tip off so the needle just pokes out. The jam-jar style jar  is low and flat so it works good because the needle tip is right before the bottom. I slurped up some syringes of myc water and let then sit a bit and then injected them in jars of sterilized popcorn to use as spawn.

It was interesting smelling the mycelium! Very psilocybian but at the same time a wee bit different then cubensis.

Hi y’all, I’ve been away for a while and the mushrooms have started calling me back. This post has my attention! Can someone kindly point me in the right direction for this “vip” room? What did I do?

Impressive! If it all opened at the same time it would be ridiculously thick in there ...almost better the way it is!  Lovely.

48 hours after the GLC injection the Nat jars weren't showing any signs of growth... The next morning I was starting to get worried. These jars were suppose to be my spawn for fruiting and now it looks like I'll have to re-do them. That evening I started to notice good growth all around the jars. What i think happened is:

- no resting period to let smashed up mycelium recover before inoculation
- needle too small to suck up large chunks

It's interesting to what the Nats rebuild it's myc base from scratch. What started out as thick , globby chunky mycelium ended up regrowing from super whispy fine strand mycelium. For a second I was worried it was cobweb. Next time I think i'll make a mycelium-dabber lid that poots out a few CC's of myc water per squirt. This way all the mycelium can get ejected , no matter the chunk size. Also I think i'll increase the hole size on the milking lid to allow larger sized chunks throough but still keep the popcorn back.

So it looks like I can hold off on re-inoculation ... just had to be patient.

Watching Nats at the myc stage is fascinating!

On the third day after inoculation the Nat  cobweb myc started to become highly visible

The first mycelium to appear is very thin and whispy compared to the mega-thick mat that got milked off. Propably because its cobweb

Unless... that is cobweb...
I'll post update pics on how that mycelium fills out. If it is cobweb I'll ditch those jars , make sterlize more popcorn and do a G2G instead.

Edit: It seems to be growing by the second the way cobweb would be. I had sterlized everything but it must have snuck in somehow. I'm kind of loath to make more GLC out of the same Nats jar in case it happens again. At the same time i'm tempted to re-sterlize everything and try again. I think i'll do both... milk another round of GLC using bigger holes on the milker and also skip the syringe step and use a lid with a dabber instead. Then G2G that milked popcorn to a jar with new sterlized grain and let it recover and transfer in that new jar.

Well I just harvested. Posted the pics on cultivation of the day thread. I think the nats definitely like more FAE.

I'll give prints away in the VIP area if I have a successful grow, and I imagine other people will as well!

So will I

Can anyone tell me the strength difference?
