Let me share the joy of tonight. The first mushrooms appeared so unexpectedly. In the morning there were no signs of growth. This is my first time growing them and I'm very excited. This is a very unusual mycelium.

That is wild. That mycelium looks so alien.

A spot of mold appeared in my tub, so I picked the second flush and composted it. I just got a few prints from this first tub, so I'll try again with my next one.
Interesting that natalensis forms sclerotia (on BRF and agar, at least), maybe it isn't as close to cubensis as it seems?

I recently returned from a trip with 2gr.The visuals are completely different, more grandiose and magical. There is no such madness of cubes. There is the greatness of contemplation. There are no side effects, except for the sedative effect and it's hard to get your ass off the bed.I can't imagine what you can squeeze out at a dose of 4-5g.

SWEET!! I was hoping you'd share an update. Sounds like a nice trip. I just received a print of these so it will be a while before I get to sample them....

Thanks for the report. Seems many are seeing a quantifiable difference between P.cubensis and P.natalensis. I just hope these two species are genetically distinctive enough so as not to easily be crossed. I plan to hold onto the genetics I've received in case this ever happens.

I have a bad physical reaction to eating sclerotia (mexicana/tampanensis, at least), so I'm going to go ahead and fruit the jars normally once they're colonized. Most of my BRF/vermiculite jars are growing sclerotia, which I didn't see on any of my jars of oats. If anyone wants to try natalensis stones, maybe brown rice would be a good substrate?
Oldpunk: tampanensis sclerotia in jars are woody brown lumps that go cream colored or blue where they're pressed against the glass. Your jars don't look to me like they're starting to form sclerotia yet from those pictures, but if you wait longer I'm sure they will.

There's definitely brown spots in the jars. Looks almost like tree bark in the middle of the myc growth. They haven't been sitting long. Got some started on grains as well so maybe I will try to fruit those and just let the rice jars sit. If the Natalensis grows stones I might try the same thing once I get it growing.
