Hi friends, I'm back! I've forgotten everything I learned last time, so I'm back to beginner's mind.

I just hydrated a pocketful of rye and made the same mistake of slightly overhydrating as I did last time (but they turned out OK back then).

I'm getting ready to jar them up and PC them.
I'm looking forward to getting back in touch with everyone.

Love

Janet

Hey Janet,

I really loved reading your post on making fermented rice drink about one and a half years ago.

Welcome back

Welcome back and many times grains can be dried somewhat on paper towels before jarring up and PCing them......IME

Most times now I try to "error" on the dry(er) side on purpose

If I'm not in a hurry, I spread my oats on a sheet pan and put them in front of a fan, mixing them up every so often, until the outsides are completely dry. If they're going into a bag instead of a jar, I always make time for this step.
