Tonight is for drinking rye and perusing the vaults. It's like visiting an old friend. And there's an old friend with a strong, historic voice - and he's gone. It's hitting hard tonight. I miss him.

Damn I miss him

Maybe off on some high cold mountain chain.
Lost one round but the price wasn't anything,
A knife in the back and more of the same."

I never met the Man (we lost Him shortly before I discovered this place) but He shaped the man I have become.
A decade or more ago I named myself Phineas because I am but one part of His "hippy trinity," the Intellectual.
When asked about the three guys He used as an avatar He said:
those guys are
the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers
Phineas, Fat Freddie, & Freewheeling Franklin.
they were/are comic book characters
from the 70's, very popular in the
hippy underground for a time, very funny.
I see each
as an archetype for a facet of my personality.
the 3 are 1.
a hippy trinity.
Phineas is the intellectual.
Freddie's the party animal
Franklin's the hardass.
I can only hope that I've lived up to His idea of what a Phineas should be.
May He continue to rest in peace

I'd like to point out here that "he" hated the Dead...blasphemy!

There is no thing or being "Dead" ever!
In toral misconception of the Great Unity of the One, we superficialy judge the incoprehensible eternal transformations of the One and we call them "Deaths".
The only certain thing I agree with... is that we miss him...
Blessed be his travelling Entity!

EYMAIOS, dude that is a reference to the band The Grateful Dead.
Not everything is about the stuff you always spew about.

P.S. At the risk of upsetting some, I'm not a huge fan of the Dead either. Personally, I much prefer Pink Floyd.
Just kidding FWIW. I'm not that hardcore.
As another aside (we'll see if this one goes as off the rails as my last one did)...though I used to have this discussion myself, I don't fully understand why these two bands get pitted against each other in this way. There is virtually nothing similar about them. I'm almost positive there's a whole thread on the boards here dedicated to this topic. There's probably a very good chance I involved myself in it. But it doesn't actually make a lot of sense to me....just sayin...
