AA+ is slower and the slower the stronger the strain, anecdotally speaking ofcourse.

So I hear.... I hope it's true.

I'm super excited about the albino. A few months ago there was a pic of some white beauties. Think it was from el pirana. But it was so cool to me I got online and ordered the AA+ syringe at like 2am. Been anxiously waiting ever since.

I got home from work and checked quick and the trays are forming pins everywhere. Super stoked. It got super hot here and the water trays seem to help mediate the temp. Theyre staying right at 76-77 deg and it's like 85 in the room. It's supposed to hit 100 this weekend so I will be testing out my idea of a couple ice cubes in the water to help keep from overheating.

I rigged up a super ghetto fan/hose to push in a little cool air to the cabinet. But I'd like to keep it as simple as I can and a fan running to a hose attached to a cabinet is not very discrete. I tested the ice cubes and 3 cubes dropped the water temp by 9-10deg and the air temp by 3-4. But I need to be around to monitor how long that lasts.

So far the trays seem to be loving the setup. First pins were 9 days from birthing. The same mix minus the coffee grounds took 14 in the Ziploc.

Pins pins pins. However....im starting to question the albino-ness of my Albino A+ syringe. The ones in the Ziploc are getting pretty big and still not very white. Perhaps it was mislabeled? Or do they change?

If they're mislabeled, then whatever it is is still growing well. I just expected albino to mean more albino

Rhizomes turn to knots....which can then become pins....wonder why we would try to transfer that characteristic when we see it on agar? That's why I do....

Funny how adverts sometimes find a way of becoming directly in conflict with experiences eh? Yeah...me too

I've had a completely different species come in a syringe........never again.

IMHO....all it takes is ONE good print.....

Nice job man!

This is not what pictured Albino to look like.
Best shot I can manage through the Ziploc.

Then again. I don't really know. It's taken 5 days to get to this point.

So down the rabbit hole I went and just spent 45 min reading pages of a post from last year about albino species and it seems like a lot of them had questionable fruit colors and what looks like PE growth.

So maybe they're labeled right and I need to clone the white ones to get a more consistent white growth? Sounds like the next fun project.

Sorry for images these are all my AA+ from last year.

Honestly, all my white species grow pure white, no brown caps. Pins and fruits are just white and hard to see a cap till they blow up. I'm like a month behind ya on my AA+ from cold storage, if I get pure white flush again I'll send ya some spores.

Looks like a mislabel but those are some meaty cubes regardless.

I read through most of your Albino thread yesterday rocky. It seemed like the other contributers also saw some color variances and some PE look a likes. It'll be interesting to see what these end up like.

I've got 2 shoeboxes (one from agar/grain, and one from spores/brown rice) and another Ziploc going from the same batch.

I will try to make clones from the different body types. Out of all those fruits in there only 2 or 3 are white-ish. The 2 bigger ones are looking ready to pick....not sure if I should open the bag and pluck them or not. First Ziploc ....

I'm new!!!! I don't know what to do!!!!

I sure have been stuck on the Joe Dirt quotes lately.

Just checked the cube cabinet and temps were already 80 deg first thing in the morning. Brought all the tubs down to the lower level where it stays much cooler. Hopefully not too much cooler....but the water in the tubs should make the temp change gradually.

It's supposed to be over 100 today and it's like 1000% humidity already. The ice cubes cooled the trays down but only for about an hour each time. Much easier to just move them to a cooler spot.

Possibly reverted? You could also print the paler fruit. Hope you see more pale fruits, print the palest, etc till you get a pure white flush
Or there's better genetics around...

For the lone big one, cut it with scissors or a knife close the stem. Leave the rest till they mature (print/clone, in case it's a meatier/faster dude?)

YES......and when you find what you're looking for figure out how to store that culture long term.....mind your efforts.....

It's a cool thing to accomplish.....capturing from the wild is really cool too....

Always get new prints when you can......

I was growing some leucistic cubes this past year, maybe 2/3 of the tubs were pure white, 1/3 of the tubs were reverted back to normal colors. The reverts were good, from my tests they were more potent than the leucistic.

Another blurry pic.

20210605_163725~2.jpg

So after that solid advice. I think I will let them go one more day and then grab a print off the light one and then a tissue clone from both. I was gonna pick them both as soon as that veil broke. But it does look like a good print candidate now that it growing up.

Moved the tubs downstairs and they settled in at 74deg. Pretty good for a 96 deg day. Here's a pic of the Albino pins in an open tub. I don't see a white one at all in these. But they look fat and happy.

The shoebox is from MS agar germ plate to wild bird seed.

Thanks. The water tub is working good, and then there's no misting. I just fan them with the lid twice a day. There's a little salt in the water, but I'm wondering if using peroxide instead would affect the mushrooms. Got some Natalensis started and when the time comes I was thinking of putting an air hose and air stone in the lower tub to provide constant fresh air. I rigged up a peroxide pre filter jar, but am thinking it would disperse air better to place an air stone in the lower water bin. Maybe I will start 2 trays and do one each to see.

Opened the Ziploc and pulled the first 2 fruits. The pale one (the only one) is getting printed and then I took tissue samples for clones. Looked for more white caps and nada, just brown and blue.

20210606_095339.jpg

Now that I zoom around the pic there may be 1 more pale one in the bottom left. It's like a wheres waldo search.

The box could be read tricking too much FAE at the sub level.. those look a little choked out.. you got lots of holes poked in the bag?
