Thanks yo! Ya know... I usually let em open up and haven’t really picked after the veil breaks in a long time.. I usually wait til it’s the best picture LOL lately, I’ve been needing lots of spores and to check mature pheno types. I do usually like to catch em before too big of sporesplosion but there hasn’t been any complaints about fully mature fruits. It’s an interesting theory and one id like to explore.. I can take a clone tub and grab some early and some late and compare, but that won’t be for a while since I’m packing it up for the summer. I’m also sure I have some early pickins that I can sift through and compare to open ones the next couple times I partake. I’ll lyk if I experiment :)

I’m convinced that any noob doing their first grow should use this tek for fruiting rather than trying SGFC or other tubs, this is so much easier and requires minimal attention. I’ve had a few brf jars fruiting in ziplocks now and this is definitely what I’ll do for smaller grows. I really appreciate the advice in this thread faht!

No!!!! My first Ziploc bag developed trich I think. I only hope it doesn't get into the other tubs/bags.

There was way too much moisture and it shoulda fruited by now.....but still....
Sad day.

Memorial service will be held Saturday as we lower it's remains back into the earth.

Yeah... I have one more waiting to pin. And 2 colonizing. Those first 2 I didn't pastuerize. It was just coir/verm straight from the packaging.

The 2nd two I did pasteurize since I added some coffee grounds to the mix. Nothing to do but wait and see what happens.

I'd like to see contaminants, go from you and me.....

Remember the old Coke song? ^^^^^^

If I could I would........

Sandbagging.......hahahaha.....that's perfect!

I do like bags of all kinds too.....the results are obvious and too numerous to ignore...

Hey Faht. What's your take on this. This ziploc bag was from an Albino A+ syringe...but im not so sure. The biggest one is bic lighter sized after 5 days growing. The Ziploc is working well though.

Yeah that’s interesting.. is that like a lot of ms? As in, did you shoot up cakes and then crumble type thing or did you take to agar and then take a small transfer? I ask because most of those look like something not aa+ but some have that weird whiteness to them.. I’ve seen normal colored cubes turn whiter as they mature but it also looks like there’s a couple white pins so idk lol.

Posed the question to ya cuz they looked more like PE and not really albino-ey. With all your PE cross strains wanted your thoughts.

After I asked I dug around and read a lot of posts with similar differences in coloring and quite a few PE look a likes. So I guess it's kinda a normal thing.

It's multi spore, I haven't tried any isolates yet. I started one with agar/grains and another in brown rice from syringe. Think that ones a grain jar from an LC from the syringe. Im pretty stoked to see how it looks all grown up.

Got a feeling I'm gonna end up with a bunch of different clones and a whole new giant project on my hands.

Here are a few more results--I've been liking these a lot and they'll probably be my go-to fruiting method for cubensis in the foreseeable future.  They're small and easy to manage.  Plus coir is super easy to work with.  I could even fruit a few cakes in these if I wanted.

Those are beautiful, thanks for posting them here.. yeah, coir blew me away with how easy it was… total game changer for me. You should try the coir verm mix in the cake recipe instead of just verm (along with brf, of course).. the output per cake is very noticeable. Thanks again!

I SO have to try these VERY Soon.  Awesome thread, but I'm out of likes(typical for me), I'll lace this thread up with likes... LATER!

I've done little 4 cup zip tub testers, but this looks So legit and I'm into smaller projects these days running through genetics.  A bag project has

been CALLING me for quite awhile.  I'm going to have to Scratch that Itch.

Awesome job Sidestreet.. and of Course the Host... you straight kill(it) anything you Grow... BRAVO!!

I don't have any large zip-lock bags at the moment....but the cubie folks shouldn't the only ones with bags and fungus loaves....

So a large filter patch bag will have to do for now.....

small_GEDC2015.jpg

With half of an 18 count paper egg carton DRY in the bottom of the bag...

(this absorbs excess moisture and condensation that runs down the inside of the bag to stop any puddles or pooling)

It will likely be in the bag for a looong time....

small_GEDC2020.jpg

1/3 fertilized potting soil - 2/3 Naturescapes mulch, both straight from the bag about 2 quarts mixed (quite damp but not dripping wet at all)

small_GEDC2036.jpg

Level off the bottom of the bag with the woodie soil mix......

small_GEDC2032.jpg

Two quarts of well colonized woodie spawn (grain and wood chips/stems)

small_GEDC2025.jpg    small_GEDC2037.jpg

Like Ogre's and Onions, Woodies like layers too......

small_GEDC2044.jpg

A couple of them at least......

small_GEDC2054.jpg

So about a half gallon of substrate to about a half gallon of spawn...

small_GEDC2059.jpg

In layers.....hopefully to become a woodie loaf.....

small_GEDC2074.jpg

Sealed and sitting......

...... :meditate: ......

......

...

..

The massive cakes above and through out this thread are incredible......

There's no question about the results......

This is a fertilized 6 inch thick wood loaf cake..... I will let you know....
