Wow.... I REALLY hope the clones I took were from that batch.

The night before last I made some tea with 3g. It was a mix of Koh Samui and Cambodians. Just a light little buzz, had a movie playing in the background and spent the whole evening glued to my phone kickin back on the couch. Pretty much just what I was looking for. I'm just getting over the Rona and a little buzz sounded good, but a few hours later I was kinda disappointed that I stared at my phone the whole time. (All of you were probably thinking the same)

So last night I thought about going bigger, but decided I would try the same amount but go lemon tek style. Once again. Exactly 3g but it was only the Cambodians...which I thought were a bit weaker. Last time I took about 8g.

So I decided to compare back to back nights. Tea vs Lemon.
Also decided on no phone, tv, no music, nothing. Since the previous night was disappointing in that aspect. It's been raining and snowing for weeks and was finally nice last night. So I chomped down my lemony mess and cleaned up my garage for 30 min or so. I really like to try and finish some busy task like cleaning up a corner or the kitchen while waiting for the buzz.

The buzz started right as dusk set in and my last task was to bury a couple old cakes in the woods. On my way back to the house I decided it was really nice outside so I hopped on the trampoline and sprawled out to just listen and look. There was one of those super pretty sunsets with the rolling clouds, a light breeze, neighborhood was quiet and the birds and frogs and crickets were doin their thing. And then...WOW. The sunset clouds started rolling everywhere. The tree branches were waiving around and looked like they were reaching and stretching into the gorgeous spring evening. I swear I could actually see the gas exchange at the tip of every little branch. And at the same time became aware of myself breathing and exchanging gases. It was a very wonderful and healing feeling. Especially after being sick and having a rough time breathing for days. I laid there for hours, occasionally taking a little stroll around and making my way back to the trampoline. At one end you can lay under the tree branches and it was just a writhing breathing silhouetted tangle of branches. I laid there until the stars came out and peeked through the overcast clouds and they swam around the sky behind the breathing tree.

I love that trampoline.
I loved that tree.
And I proceeded to tell the trampoline and tree how I felt.

And then thoughts turned to my old friend I got the trampoline from. (He's going to get a gift of these with lemon tek instructions) I laid there until I was cold and the stars clouded over thinking of friends n family and finally went inside.

We've got ticks here and I was hanging with the wooly dog and cat outside. Plus I was freezing. And so I decided a hot bath would warm me up and I could clean up n check for ticks. Still no phone no music no tv. Just my thoughts. As the tub filled I broke the no electronic rule and turned my phone on long enough to send a message to the closest people in my life and tell them I appreciated them. Then I sent one to my wife saying I didn't hate her and I actually hope she's happy with her new boyfriend. It felt important and like some closure at the time. I got cleaned up and had a snack and laid there in silence.....and in peace. Which as a musician silence=peace never made sense.

So. 3g of some average cubes blew my mind. I'm talking straight up LSD scale visuals and an immense and healthy self reflection and gratitude period.

I want to say thank you to all of you for guiding me through the process of growing these. For your kind assistance. For just being here and having a place to share this. I've been having a real rough go of life lately and this has become one of my places of solace.

So which was better? Tea, or Lemon tek?

Sounds like you're going through a lot at the moment. It will pass, and your life will continue. Happily, I hope. Best of luck.

The lemon tek last night was far better.

I was expecting just a little more, since it was the same dose, and instead it turned my world upside down.

. But I'm also thinking that some of those Cambodians I grew happened to be super strong. I'm hoping one of the clones I took was from one of the potent ones. Cuz damn!

And thanks. It all passes. Life goes on. And I've led my life into the direction of awesomeness. Shits been rough but that's life. Peaks and valleys.

Next time try limes!

Same effect, much better taste/more palatable IMO.

Key limes are my favorite (when I can find them). They are the most acidic fruit, and the lemon/lime soak works thanks to pH. You can even use a saturated solution of citric acid crystals in water (I tried it, worked the same as juice). That was good to know since I can keep a bottle of citric acid around and not have to run to a store to buy limes if I suddenly decide I want to trip today.

The pre-soak is also great for when your stash is almost depleted and you want to feel more than what your last gram of mushroom crumbs/shake would normally do for you.

@TVCasualty I found your Key Lime Tek recipe in another thread around late November of 2020. All I had at the moment was a half oz of Azurescens. When I read your key lime tek, it just so happened that I have a bottle of Nellie & Joe's Famous Key West Lime Juice in my refrigerator. It's there all the time. I've always replenished it with a new one, once the previous bottle runs out. Ya never know when I'm going to have a hankering for making a key lime pie. I love Key Lime Pie! So I ground up a gram or so of the Azzies in my dedicated coffee grinder into dust, put the dust in a shot glass, and covered it with lime juice, and stirred it up to be sure to submerge it all. I let it sit for your proscribed 20 minutes. I'll be damned if when I came back, and looked at it, it had turned bluish colored. I strained it out through cheese cloth into another shot glass. First I sucked the wad of dusted fruits in the cheesecloth dry, then I heave ho'ed the half shot of blue key lime juice. You were correct. There is absolutely zero anxiety going up, because 15-20 minutes later you're just there, peaking. Virtually zero body issues. Almost like switching a light on, I was peaking for the next 4-5 hours. I went to my neighbor, Bob Wow's, 42" TV burning extravaganza, and marveled at all of the colors of the flames until the wee hours of the morning. Of course it was just Bob, and I. Social distancing and all. I've used this method of delivery many times since,  and it has become my preferred method of imbibing shrooms. I used to grind them to dust, and add the dust to capsules. Which worked well also, but Lime Tek seems to skirt those heebie jeebie feelings of that anxiety one gets going up. It tastes pretty good too, and it has no effect on the stomach. I saved the little wads of dusted shrooms wrapped in cheesecloth in a small carton in my fridge. When I got up to 3 of them, I soaked them in lime juice again, and drank the juice, and ate the shrooms. Nothing. So in that initial 20 minutes of soaking it removes all the alkaloids completely!  No need to eat the leftover shrooms. Thank you TVCasualty for this ingenious tek! Grab yourself a bottle of Nellie & Joe's Key West Lime juice to keep in your fridge so you can make a pie, or take a trip whenever you want. Now I started enjoying Key Lime tek psilocybe's with Lion's Mane. Which seems to step up the trip quite a lot also. Trip on my brethren!

I'm sold.....Next time it'll be the lime.

It wasn't the first time with the lemon, but damn those particular shrooms packed a punch.

@TVCasualty I found your Key Lime Tek recipe in another thread around late November of 2020. All I had at the moment was a half oz of Azurescens.

When I read that I had a "uh-oh" moment when just for a second I thought you were about to say you'd taken them all after soaking in juice. Whew. That would've been ...something.

Anyway, when you mention that it had turned blue (even a little) it almost certainly means that the juice has been buffered a bit. It might still be relatively acidic, but not as acidic as fresh-squeezed, which is why that's what the method specifies.

Azures are strong no matter what, and a gram is a big, impressive dose even without a soak.

Soaking them at a slightly higher pH (like the juice probably is) would probably help a bit with nausea but probably isn't sufficient to dephosphorylize the psilocybin into psilocin Even fresh squeezed grapefruit juice is not strong enough.

Fresh lemon or lime juice is pretty close to the pH of stomach acid, which is definitely strong enough. Turning all the psilocybin into psilocin in vitro is why it comes on so fast since it's ready to slip right into your bloodstream as soon as it hits your stomach. Also, if you were to add citric acid crystals to your soak when it was blue it would suddenly turn clear when you added enough to reach the right pH (that's why I think yours turning blue means the pH was too high). This article has some good info about the pharmacology: https://psychedelicr...n-and-psilocin/

The good news is that if you try it with fresh squeezed juice it might be even more impressive. The timing of the come-up you reported for that dose of Azures after a soak sounded a bit too long, frankly (for an empty stomach, that is).

So my two suggestions for next time are to try it with fresh squeezed juice and to look into paragraph breaks, lol.

I do a combo acid soak and then steep it to make a tea. There is never any nausea that way and it makes for a hell of a ride. I can do a 7 gram dose and end up with blurry vision, eyes watering, laying on the floor hugging the pillow if I sip it down to fast. Powerful stuff indeed.

Even just a two gram lime tea dose can be quite potent sometimes

Pointing it out seems adequate. A thread would be redundant. I only mentioned it because based on a lot of comments I've read about comments over the years it became apparent that there is an inverse correlation between how large an unbroken block of text is and the number of people who end up reading it.

Same goes for really long sentences or replies with more than 4 paragraphs which is why I often don't get many (or any) replies to those kinds of posts. I improved those habits over the years a little thanks to others pointing them out to me since I'm old-school and believe constructive criticism is constructive (therefore a net positive) and that grammar 'n' shit matters. I read such posts anyway since I'm a mod, but I'd rather not and FWIW many others don't.

In any case they were just suggestions. And thinking about it further we probably do need a remedial English thread, frankly.

Ohhhh yeah, the longer the solid block of words are the less chance anyone will read them. Slap some breaks in there to help us out and give our eye balls a rest from trying to keep track of where the hell we were in that word block.

When I first started browsing the site even the well written long form post's seemed like a bit of a hill climb, but as time went on I found they often contain some of the best insight and information to be gleamed and the time spent feels worth it.

I don't see why not, I thought that is the same acid that is in lemon and limes right?

Surely any old acid will help break it down, my guess is limes were chosen for ease of purchase and taste factor.

I don't know, never messed with it.

Whether it works or not depends on what pH it can achieve. If a saturated solution of it can get as low as lemon or lime juice then you're good to go.
