I remember watching them gather this honey In Nepal on an episode of vice. These guys would climb to the top of these cliffs and lower each other down on ropes to collect the honey. It seemed crazy dangerous but left me with the impression that it was some rare shit.

Listening to a Joe Rogan episode and they said you can order it online. So after poking around it turns out there are quite a few websites where you can order it.

 

My question is does anyone have any experience with this stuff? Advice suggestions? Is it worth the price, and could they recommend a seller if so?

Datura's are some of my favorite flowers. I grow many many plants every summer.. wonder if my Bees are producing some of this honey

While I love to grow these plants and respect Their use in a safe manner, which jas some well know documented use... they definitely give me no interest at this point in my life other than some of the most amazing fragrant plants. I absolutely love the smells of datura plants opening up in the evening. Fills patio with the most amazing smells.

I'm.interested to hear some feed back on this post amd I'd anyone has tried this. Didn't know it was easily ordered.

I used to talk to a guy off Instagram that made topical ointments front seeds. He even sent me some in exchange for a wack load of seeds. I've never had an interest to try said topical ointment

Point of order: "Mad Honey" comes from Rhododendron, not Datura.

The hallucinogenic effect comes from Grayanotoxin, which is produced by plants in the ericaceae family. Datura is in the solanaceae family.

Hallucinogenic "Mad Honey" must be made by bees that collect nectar and pollen almost exclusively from Rhododendrons. If there are other tasty plants nearby the bees will harvest from them also and dilute the Grayanotoxin content of the honey they produce. If you want the real stuff you've probably got to climb the ropes in Nepal and harvest it yourself.

I'd wager a testicle that any "Mad Honey" vendors online are just drug-savvy beekeepers (who saw the same bullshit on VICE [or as I call it, WEED-TV] -- check out VICE's horrible origin story and reconsider their credibility...) who have a few rhododendrons near their hives & slap the right label on their clover honey to sell it for $100USD/pint...

I think that the battle may be akin to the search for good bark. They sell whats called Himalayan honey on some of those sites as well and that appears to be the medicinal version of the mad honey. Well I am off to browse through some websites

Well fuck it I ordered some last night, of course after I read more and more reviews I am thinking it might be a bit disappointing. Reviewers vary and my experience with people trying to describe cannabis effects, it seem to be quite subjective. Some claimed they felt nothing at all and others described it like a very pleasant two hour high

 

Never got into all that Kratom I ordered due to the nauseating effects by over dosing. Like a fool I took to much the first time and while the initial feeling was really fun waiting out the sickness left a bad taste in my mouth. Not to mention it is pretty nasty to get down. Its fine but when you have excellent drugs like mushrooms and marijuana these semi legals tend to be a bit of a letdown

 

Oh well live and learn, experimenting is what it is, sometimes you have great success like a grow kit that produces beautiful mushrooms. Kick starting my fun journey into learning to cultivate. Then there are others like my Kratom bags that are sitting in the tea cupboard unopened.

Stay away from datura. She is a beautiful evil that will steal you away.
If you're lucky and she doesn't steal your life, she steals the way you perceive, all that you see, and will leave you left wondering if what you are going through is real or a hallucination.

I was going to say it's toxic rhodendreons too, thanks for clearing that. I was always nervous around honey in the NE due to them...

 

Datura is a cocktail of chemicals as a clinician I fear and respect. They cause some insane muscarinic action and my eye drops I'm seldom to RX can fuck your accommodation (reading ability) for a 7-10 days and the mydriasis (dilation) is nothing to scoff at either. I've had people have confusion, agitation from eye drops...huge list of contraindications from a topical med...

In a couple weeks we will find out if I bought into a hipster trend.

 

The seller returned my question asking if it was hallucinogenic and the reply was it depends on the person. Some say they can feel it and others say it just has the medicinal effect. Reviews looked promising but nobody really said they were tripping balls. And of course they could all be fake reviews that is something one should be weary of.

 

There were some obvious bullshit ones out there, trying to sell the same jars for twenty bucks. The honey was not even red in colour haha. Another thing I noticed in the comments for some sellers was that the honey was shipped from the us. Some speculate this is because they have different laws on classification of honey, the idea being it is easier to counterfeit out of the US and then ship to other countries. You think your ordering from Turkey or Nepal but it comes from Idaho or some shit

Apparently northern Turkey has been collecting this stuff for thousands of years as well. They have some tales of it being used as a chemical weapon against incoming armies. Might be where the hacking or law enforcement term honey pot came from.

 

 

 

 

Going to have to investigate this datura you guys are talking about never heard of it before. Sounds like something to stay away from though.

She shipped, I did manage to find a youtube review of that brand that was promising. Although my search for an intense high remains tempered, I feel to call the honey hallucinogenic is disingenuous in the branding. It appears to work more like a nice stone.  I should post  that youtube video if only for the hilarious reason to point out how not to make a review video. It took the guy around ten minutes to open the package, out of the view of the camera

 

They say that Datura is the only true Hallucinogenic. I have always said that about mushrooms and the like, although I have yet to try the cactus. While I have seen some fractals and intense distortions. Never did I see something realistic sitting in front of me that did not actually exists. Like a dead relative or cat or whatever every day life object.

 

I can see what Baphom was talking about, how Datura leaves lasting effects and could lead one to question reality itself. Likely the closest thing to having actual schizophrenia

Yes. Datura causes permanent schizophrenia-like symptoms. Like questioning whether you are in a dream or reality. Voice of experience. I don't recommend even contemplating using Datura for other than landscape beauty. Just don't - and take my word for it. You're welcome.

 

As for the mad honey:

The video I saw was similar. Guys rappelled off of a cliff face and collected the honey.

Once down to the bottom, one particular member of the group made an exuberant, enthusiastic display of over-imbibing the honey. He probably ate about a measuring cup worth.

By the end of the journey, he was being carried by his friends because he could no longer walk. He had sever motor skill impairment similar to someone who has drank an excessive amount of alcohol.

About 100 yards after they started carrying him - they carried him to the side of the road so he could vomit profusely. So the honey is pretty strong (or at least, the real stuff seems to be).

There seems to be a few factors that change the strength of the honey. One being the age of it and the other that the honey is more potent in the spring and early summer months. They say one of the ways to avoid poisoning is to let the honey age a bit. Start with one small spoon a day and work your way up.

 

Then yeah, finding out who is legit and who is not seems to be the trick. Playing the annoying game of who's full of shit, reading through reviews wondering if its the competitors leaving shit reviews on each others websites or actual reviews. If your graphics glitch for a second I am outa there. So far there seems to be plenty of people saying they got scammed. They would order one thing and get a completely different one in the mail. This site appeared to be the most credible in Nepal to me. Positive reviews from people trying it on youtube and the website, saying they could feel it.

I learned my lesson with over dosing with that Kratom so I will be exercising caution with this stuff if it actually works. The effects of overdosing and dealing with poisoning sound pretty shitty.

Got me package today

 

 

 

 

 

Well it shipped really fast, had it here in around five business days. No leaking honey like plenty of the other reviewers had so off to a good start so far. As well it is the product as advertised. Did not show up in a junky plastic bottle with a cheap computer printed sticker on it.  So far scam free. Now lets see what she does

 

Took a small spoon for a taste test and the floral taste it has is quite nice. The smell reminds me of that floral like smell of DMT. Not like any honey I have ever eaten thats for sure, if anything it has me wanting to try out all these other tasty sounding types of honey I had never heard of before this little experiment. We have local honey here but it does not have the floral taste to it. More like the store bought honey I guess... but it taste better

 

Not sure if the amount I took is enough to feel it but half hour seems to be the go to. I am probably 15 min and I think I can feel it a little, sort of a calming effect at the momento...  Kinda like I ate a 10mg gummie

 

I will play around with dosage over the next week or so and report back

I think its working haha, my affinity for Mary Jane is clouding my results. I have been going slow in case it is strong and easily overdosed. So far so good though. Not yet feeling ripped off, perhaps a bit pricey but further testing is needed. It feels like a sedative effect, somewhat close to alcohol or weed.

 

I helped my friend move the other day and I felt like it made me cool as a cucumber. No fucks given at all, again though there was some weed and drinks that were involved in that situation so hard to say.

 

The plan is to give some out next week during band night, see what the other fellas think of it.  At one small spoon worth I would say the effect is not super strong so that its obvious, but I swear I feel something damn. I hope to heck its not placebo

I will post one final result after I collect my third party reports, gave a bit to some friends to tell me how they feel about it. But I gotta say I don't feel like I got scammed. As far as potency well that appears to be a bit of a game you play riding the edge of getting sick so that is a big downside to this stuff. But I have been taking a spoon or two and you definitely feel different. Especially after two. Too scared to fuck with higher doses the effects of poisoning sounds terrible.

 

If I had to describe the two most potent feelings it would be a sense of calm and slightly sleepy feeling. More of a body stone than cerebral. It is sort of like weed but not as strong and without the paranoia part. Or somewhat comparable to three drinks as far as potency but you feel different than on booze. I have noticed a strange sort of ringing or tingling sensation immediately after eating it

 

All in all not disappointing, it was worth it for a life experiment but for the price I had to pay 105 US for a 1KG jar, I don't think I will be ordering it again. A beer or a doobie does me just fine. Compared to mushrooms its a joke in the hallucinogenic game, considering you have to essentially enter into the poisoning stage to get those effects.

 

To summarize you likely already have better drugs at your disposal but try some out if someone offers it
