I am on the 7th day of a water only fast. Do to age, & other factors I will stop shortly, much as I would like to continue for longer.

I was on the prescription meds: metoprolol tartrate and Xarelto at one point, I quit both, and am working on quitting enalapril tartrate.

Blood pressure is down, urine flows some what better, ( an issue for most older men in the US), and mind seems a bit 'clearer'.

All experts agree breaking the fast correctly, and having a good diet afterwards, are essential to maintain benefits.

To do this I get some information from these sources:

https://www.youtube....ael Greger, M.D.

I did a three day water fast earlier this year. I’m planning to try a 7-10 day fast, maybe later this summer. I’ll have to check out those links.

2 of the links are from some of the few MDs who are nutritionally knowledgeable  & who base their presentations either on results from patients (Dr. Fuhrman) or from science experiments and studies ( Fuhrman & Dr. Michael Greger ).

The other link is to diet & health information, from scientist Dr. Rhonda Patrick. She makes the very technical data from biochemistry and metabolism more understandable for laymen.

All of this is mostly diet info. & not detailed info. on conducting fasts.
