Yeah, for sure, wooly sort of look but clean all the same (One side of my Yeti plate is wooly looking too) and I'll probably do a T2 on it once I run the T1 later this year.  The look could change with a transfer, but I'm not worried about it at this point.  I have other tissue culture to grab from the original spore plate if needed.  Do a cycle and get prints and go from there.  I was happy to see the second attempt on Agar was a successful one with the freebie print friend.  Either way, she's Clean TAday!

I like to run the MS plate side by side against the T1, I enjoy the variation too.  I did so with the Melmac TP and there was a HUGE difference in fruits on the MS tub. I hadn't seen that much variation since I quit squirting spore syringes Many years ago.  SHIPs and a sterile flamed needle did the trick back in those days.  MEMORY Lane... I must be due for a MONO grow.

I haven't ran a Mono in almost 5 years myself, my first attempt at a bulk grow many years ago (Shout out to Frank and Ohm/Ozz tub) so a soft spot in my heart always.  Back when I was getting clean spore syringes from Ol' Ralph.  Oh the days of not backing up anything and shooting from the hip.

I love tubs.....and trays in tubs too.....

 

Until I have a solid controlled fruiting chamber, and I mean a new (or seriously remodeled), clean, building of some kind...(pole barn, finished my way with full environmental controls, would rule)

 

Tubs allow me to maintain high humidity levels with relatively long times in between maintaining them, also with protection and an isolating membrane.....

The first time I ever grew anything, which happened to be Cubes, I did smaller trays in an unmodified tub.  Then I grew back-to-back Mono's and didn't grow for a LONG time.      I used to grow them just to have them on hand for myself, friends, etc...had a few trips that were bunk from fruits not taken care of.  I would of never thought I'd be where I'm at in this hobby, I was perfectly content(at the time) with a grow or two and Done for awhile.  From Cubes, to Edibles, then Exotics, that's my path and I'm still ON it.

What's Goin On fungus freaks, It's that time of the year to get back at it, I'm not quite ready to fruit anything since I have a trip coming up in Mid October (final trip, it's been a rollercoaster this year), but I am front loaded with some Fungus Funtime.  

 

I am currently toying around with my new Martha setup, it's an active setup this time with an exhaust fan on a cycle timer.  I also went with a 5 tier tent, anyway, most of what I'm doing won't be in the tent, but I do enjoy cube experiments with a small tray (here and there) just to see how they do.  Back on track, I have a jar of Wild Coast and Estero Oats about a week in, I'm looking to do some warm species after I get back from my trip for a few weeks before the cooler weather comes in for my cold species blocks.  I also shot up the last of the Ps Cyan syringe and it's just starting to jump off to Oats.  Oh, the reason I mentioned the Martha is I have a colonized tray of cased grains from the Mexicana stones I harvested awhile back, bust on the yield, but I can't wait to try them.  VERY impressed with Tamp Stones (I have too many... POOR Me).  I even enjoyed a few .7 to 1.1 micro doses with freshie tamp stones, the 1.1 was on the higher end of a micro, I really enjoyed .7 - .8(6 month stones).  

 

Let's see, what else is going down, I finally dropped the FP+, Gandalf, and a T4 AA+ plate that was really close to unusable (finally jumped off to grain in a week, which is SLOW comparatively... Around 3 days normally).  

 

So, the plan is to see if the Mexicana tray of Oats and a thin layer of straight Coco does any good, I cased it before I left, around 3 days give or take.  The tray didn't overlay or anything, looks good with mycelium popping out here and there.  I'll get a shot up when I get a chance.  I'll get the Pan jars to bulk before my trip, hopefully comeback to trays ready or real close to it (I have tried to cheat with slightly uncolonized trays in a hurry, Yeah... DON'T do that).  In a perfect world, I'll have most or all of the jars to Subs.  We Shall See... Good Vibes for a new season, I want to Go Clone hunting this year, I've been shooting MS LC's and it's been decent, but looking to go another step further.  Always strive to outdo thyself is my Moto.  LET'S GO!!

Time for a few shots of upcoming work.  Oh, I did want to correct my previous post, nothing big, but the Mexicana tray of grains is actually Rye not Oats cased with straight Coco from the hot water tap.  Nothing special.  I've always wanted to try straight Coco without Verm so I figured... WHY not this Round with some freebie grains that have already paid out with stones.

Always enjoy this time of the year, weather cools off, and BACK to IT.  Really looking to expand this year, I've never cloned ANYTHING, and I've had decent pinsets with MS LC's, but I'm looking for that FULL Canopy, I've had some close, but I'm talking wall to wall.  The Avery Albino was a wonderful yielder, almost 2.5 zones (69g One quart of Spawn) so that one definitely has potential for a full sub surface extravaganza.  I always preface by saying... Anything I do is never anything I need, this is purely for the fun and thrill of growing, I have dumped many cubes over the years to the compost pile without hesitation.  The only reason I have is to rotate new grows or crops, and I've had cubes for over 3 years with little to NO loss of potency.  One of these years, I'm going to let one go for a decade and see, just for shits and giggles.  I just normally don't get that far along, all good... like I always say.... Back to the Earth for what it's worth!

 

 

Hey Now, check out my first fruits of the Season from a Mexicana Rye seed Jar that I removed the stones from and let it colonize for 2-3 days and cased it with plain Ol' Coco hydrated from the hot water faucet.  Simple and effective.

 

 

The last of the Ps Cyan LC I figured I would drop to Grain, not that I need it, but these are fun to play with and have around.  I'll prob drop a seed to Agar then transfer to a new plate for storage, maybe put a wedge to LC who knows.

FP+, smaller wedge and I blew it shaking it late, Super busy and in NO hurry to fruit anyway.

 

 

Lagged on the AA+ on purpose, it's too fast of a colonizer (above avg) and a fast fruiter so I shook it late on purpose.  It was also almost too late to jump off to grain, but it did in about 6/7 days (had me a lil worried).  

 

 

Hey ya'll, I came up on some Milo (100 lbs) for less than 40 bucks at the feedstore near my Parents house.  I check in every once in awhile when I'm in the area (looking for a deal, roughly 40cents a pound) and with Oats too high here, I couldn't resist.  I still have 30ish pounds of Oats left, and 15+ of Rye so I didn't need it, but I've always wanted to use Milo and the PRICE IS RIGHT (COME ON down).  Nevermind the mycelium, it's King Blue Oyster and not an Active, but about 2 days from LC and doing what IT Do.  Take Care and Be Well.

If it's an LC, I can get PE's done in 16 days usually, but Agar is right around 19-21.  Today is the beginning of Day 17 so they are on track.  I did lag on the second mix up since smaller wedges, but I'm never worried about a few days.  I'm just happy to be back playing in the Sandbox again.  

 

Gandalf different views, I'll get this one spawned, NOT sure if the FP+ is going to be ready by Saturday.

I barely made this T4, it ended up fizzling out on Agar (Paper thin Agar, wasn't sure if it would jump off to grain) with a small contamination.  SUPER Lucky to have saved this plate and excited to see what the T4 will do, I'll be taking a clone and refresh the backup prints.  Fun GUY Stuff.

Well ya'll... Vacation time is Over and SAD times... wish I was ready for a "Permanent Vacation" EVERY day... But that JUST isn't the Case at this juncture of my life.  Back to reality, so we will start with the bad, I scrapped the Pan trays, had two medium trays of Wild Coast and one was disgusting with trich, and the other looked ok, but I decided I'm done with that culture.  Scrapped all LC's, I'll be starting fresh from spores, the cultures of WC and Estero are Slow AF to grow, and they are problematic, so CYA.  I need to do an agar plate run soon anyway, hopefully I can find a fast sliver of Pan mycelium eventually, probably the toughest part of Pans, I need a fast culture then a Solid clone.  I'll get there, No worries and NO hurry... I have a couple grammy's of Wild Coast, and plenty of the Peace River, but No bueno on the Estero.  Enough of the Debbie downer nonsense, I'm just crying a little bit (not really, sucks to lose anything in life, but I do this on the cheap, it's not a money thing at all), used to getting what I want out of projects, and these are Humbling NO doubt about it.   I'll be back COPES!

 

The Ps Cyan jar of Oats is just about finished, not much difference time wise with Oats Vs Rye.  The Rye took just over a month, and the Oats is just over 3 weeks currently.  Looking to be about the same time frame wise.

 

The Gandalf tub is 5 days complete starting on Day 6 and doing well, the surface is starting to fill in and a few spots on the bottom need to colonize, but healthy, this tray is Coco only through and through.  I've always wanted to run Coir without the Verm, figured NO better time than the present.  Pictures is through packing tape, but you can see healthy white mycelium FUR Sure.

 

 

The AA+ is 7 days complete and Day 8 here we go.  The surface is looking amazing and healthy, and I lifted the lid real quick to take a snapshot.  I'm not worried about contamination, it's colonized plenty, I don't like to disturb the environment too much during colonization/ close to pin formation.  

 

 

The Mexicana A tray of cased Rye didn't like me putting a bag over the tray and poking holes everywhere (still not enough), most of the fruits aborted, so I plucked them, and it's back in the Martha with two LM bags.

 

Oh, I don't think I mentioned dropping an Old Agar plate (6.22.21) of APE to Milo, starting to jump off nicely, about 6 days in and gave the jar a mild tumble/shake.  It's a T2, I still have a bit of LC as well, but I need some backup Swabbies (My favorite Cube).

 

I also made up some Pint Manure Cakes with 2 PE6(LC needs to be used) and a freebie Leuci Burma I've had for a while.  I have no expectations with these since I'm not a cake grower, just something I randomly threw together on the fly. I have made some all-in-one zip container manure "cakes", and these are manure/verm/rice bran.  Time will Tell.

 

I also have one last Tamp sclerotia jar going, just over 4 months in, but I'm Stone COLD Crazy and have plenty of these, they taste like(fresh) a nut for a moment, then the crazy zesty mushroom flavor hits, it's not the greatest (sour pucker style), but the flavor goes away pretty quickly.  Anything beats eating dry fruits (wouldn't attempt dry stones), no fun picking particles out of your teeth.  Ya'll Take Care.

Hey folks, the AA+ tray is finished, was a shitty culture that had a wonderful surface and knots, just didn't happen and I lost it Mid 2nd flush.  All good, I had NO expectations for this old Agar plate, lucky it even jumped off, but it served its purpose of fresh Prints (thick... AA+ has no issues giving up spores).  Just under 30g, which is a bust yield wise, but I was out of these so cheers to storing for later.  

 

 

I had some issues with my last Oat run before I started running Milo, I figured out the problem, I lost 3 of the 7 jars of that run, and I couldn't figure out for the life of me what I did wrong since I've ran Oats for years with little to no failure.  Turns out, I didn't take the boiling water off of the burner, and it DOES make a difference.  The Oats for the first time and or run, were MUSHY.  The Gandalf, FP+, and a Tierred Tooth jar didn't make it unfortunately.  I have a small jar of Gandalf on Milo going, but she's a slow roller and I think I'm going to start from scratch with the FP+, wasn't a fan of most of the growth from the original plates anyway.  

 

I do have an OLB PE Milo jar just about ready to spawn tomorrow or Monday.  Everything looks gorgeous and the last time I ran this one, just a horrible pinset and I didn't get any prints or swabs, which is the reason for running them again, MAYBE a clone... Who knows.

 

Oh, I have an old APE agar plate, that is going slow AF, but it's Agar to a quart so it's to be expected.  Looks super healthy tho', I need some swabs of this one, I don't need the fruits, maybe a clone as well... need to do another plate run.

Alrightie folks, I did end up spawning the OLB on Sunday, I haven't ran any cubes in the tent in some time so it's THAT time.  I have other things going on where I usually fruit tubs, and I have a humidifier and tent that is doing well with edibles so LET'S see what happens.  Last time I ran the AA+ in the tent it did well even being slightly overhydrated at times, I had to pour off the excess here and there.  The tent wasn't dialed in like it is now and should do great... Time will Tell.  Picture below is OLB on Milo rinsed NUMEROUS times, at least 4 or 5 washes and you can still see a piece of straw or whatever it is.  Ah well, FULL colonization is all that matters.  Take Care

Hey ya'll.... Always slow when you're playing with PE or TaT variants, although, my TaT Smurf is the fastest of them all, but still slow comparatively to other cubes I've ran in the past.  The OLB PE is doing well in the bottom of my tent away from the spray and keeping the surface well hydrated and not oversaturated.  No expectations with PE, you get what it's will to give is my Motto with em'  One tray isn't colonized as well as the other (I think thicker pseudo casing layer, just an educated guess), but who knows... I'll LET IT BE.

 

 

 

I spawned the APE tub 3 days ago, been using CVG lately, nothing special and tried and true.  I'll run the tub for 8 days give or take (surface will tell me) and send it to the Chamber.  This run is purely for swabs and a possible clone if something stands out.  The fruits are a bonus since I don't need them.  They store for a long time, and I just gave a buddy of mine some Melmac TP.  He had some old fruits that weren't taken care of by him (he had em' for almost 2 years) and the potency went out the window, so I figured I'd give em' something consistently strong and advised accordingly.  BE ready for 3g's if you take that much, an 8th will hit hard initially.  "He" took too much ONE time (all it takes), so he stays in the 2g to 2.5 realm... which is what I recommend for most folks.  Many over the years have enjoyed a half 8, it's all what you are looking for and was my first dose (buddy and I split an 8th) back in the 90's and we laughed for HOURS, and solid visuals for a mild trip.  Be careful with 2g of APE, usually fine for most, but lightweights it might be stronger than you were or are anticipating.  Myself, I have no expectations of the outcome and I'm just along for the Ride.  Get Headstrong with the fungus and you WILL Lose that battle every time.  "Enough Preacher Man" STAGE Left!

 

The TaT Smurf is doing well, faster than the Pearly Gates, it's SLOW like a Sloth in slow motion.  All good, keeps my projects staggered out, can get overwhelming if timing is off, been there... done that, it can be chaotic.  

 

Oh I forgot about an Estero jar of Oats I have, it's doing good, but no expectations with the luck I've had with them.  I don't need the fruits, but I wouldn't mind a backup of Pan fruits, but the prints and a possible clone would be worth it.  I'm going to be running my tent on the warmer side for another month or so, then it's heater off and Cold species Blocks central.  

 

I also still have stones in the fridge in old pill bottles, they last a LONG time in fridge, as a matter of fact, I need to check on them.  I also have a coffee-soaked Oats jar of Stones I'm sitting on I think around 6 months now, I'd have to look it's been a while. 

 

And last but not least, I have an Oats jar of Ps Cyan spawn that's waiting on me to spawn to wood chips.  I had a little bit of LC left so I figured why not finish it out.  The Outdoor bed isn't showing any fruits, but I do see mycelium here and there and we've had rain, but not enough so I watered it the other day.  Long Term project so whenever is fine, I'm back logged with "things" to try and experience anyway.  ALL Good in that Dept.

Hey everyone, just wanted to apologize for my absence, been going thru it a bit, and projects were neglected, and I'm surprised my edible blocks and Cannabis projects didn't go down the shitter too (focused mainly on those).  Nothing's ever wasted since I'm a composter of all kinds of things, but it still stings losing projects you know would have been successful in the right mindset.  I buy in bulk, so it's not the pennies I pay, but the time and effort are lost, and it set me back looking for clones and goals I have with a few strains.  But you know what, just have to get back to it, and saddle up cuz it's time to RIDE.  

 

I have a few jars about ready, the FP+ and Pearly Gates will be ready tomorrow (another APE quart that is close).  I have two medium tubs of Melmac going (almost colonized) and a Pint test jar of APE that was sent to a one-gallon bag doing well.  The Ps Cyan tub is doing its thing, had a couple of real tiny mold spots, but I just bumped the air a little and the myc ate it for breakfast.  That's the good thing about wood lovers, it's hard for the mold to spread like it doesn't in manure/coco subs.  Literally a few dots, that I don't see anymore.  I also dropped a freebie Golden Teacher syringe to grain, I've never grown the old school GT, so I figured WTH.  I don't normally grow REG cubes these days with all the fun varieties out there, but I'm not against it either.  I've always wanted a crack at GT, LET's GO. 

 

 

 

Also harvested an Oats coffee-soaked jar that is over six months old.  Great haul too, my best prior to this jar was 82g and change, love these Tamp Stones.

Hey Ya'll... what's GOOD in Yo' Hood.  Ok, I'm done making a clown of myself.  

 

Well folks, it's been a crazy ride lately, I feel like I'm on the world's longest rollercoaster, and MIGHT be close to getting off this chariot soon.  Really took a toll on my projects, and with me doing WAY too many at once, well, that's the way the BALL bounces sometime.  I realized during all of this, that I kind of got stuck in "experiment" mode with EVERYTHING.  Some of you know that I also grow my own Cannabis and have been for a long time and wouldn't have it any other way, but I'm going back to tried and true methods of organic growing which have been amazing to me throughout the years.  I've been in this PUSH them hard sort of mindset for a long time, anyway, kind of spilled over to my whole entire life and I'm over it.  Long story shortened; I'm going back to the beginning as well with growing the fungus amongus and letting the surface tell me what's going on.  I have over misted in the past, a little trigger happy and it's just not necessary.  I have also gone back to 90-minute sterilization for grains, I was successful with 60 mins with prepped method, but a few misses here and there with 60 mins and No Prep style.  I'm not used to losing multiple jars out of a batch, Now a stalled PE jar... WeLL that just happens from time to time.  

 

I figured that I've lost more than I have in a long time, so back to the basics they say.  Alright, enough of that sad sob story shit.... Let's get to IT.
