Hey everyone... it's been a few days without an Update and it's FRIDAY so let's get to IT.  I don't know where to begin with this update so I'll just start on what is frustrating me and go from there.  So, The PAN Cinct tub is doing great, but IMO and or Experience, everything adds up, but the fruits look like Cubes to me.  It's still early and in the pinning stage, but the stems are thick.  I know they can be(big) on Manure, but I woke up 2 days ago thinking of the Stealers Wheel song looping in my head... "Well I don't know why I came here tonight... I got the feelin' that something ain't right".  Anyway, everything adds up, fast pinning, looks like a stone(been there for about 3 days or so, growing slow so it's not trich) forming against the tub, branchy twig like mycelium, which the cap spore prints look twig or thin branch like.  I've never seen a Cube mycelium on the surface look like broken thin tree limbs.  Baffled, maybe it's lack of experience with Cincts, or I'm just overly cautious from previous issues.  I'll throw up some pics, beautiful color (red)caps or that cinnamon colored look, but if this is Cinct, there going to be BIG.  Moving On, if it's not Cinct, it isn't... and I'll deal with that situation at a later time(hoping I'm wrong).

The other PAN trays(today is Day 7) and still nothing yet from them and they aren't colonizing the surface of the casing very well(poking out in spots), probably another FAIL from the Source(woke up a little bitter this morning... Pardon Me).  Looks good on AGAR and in person, but with my track record lately... I'm not normally pessimistic at all, but IT is what it IS.

Now the APE tub is killing it, and I have confirmed it's APE on a small tub already.  You learn the hard way trusting and blasting and lose a whole round of WBS(7jars).  It's what I get for shooting OLD spores(blanks) and not going to AGAR to make sure.  Cause and Effect "they" say.  Anyway, damn Tahoe OG vape just interfering...   Today is Day 14 from spawn and 9 days from when I dubbed it instead of tinfoil and (sewing)needle holes.  This isn't a traditional shoebox style tub and the lid wouldn't of worked so Improvise and Adapt... always ready to switch gears.  I just bought a 4 pack of tubs for future use, but that's next month after I'm finished with Summer travels and what have you. Small albino little snowmen popping up.  Same routine, a light spritz every morning to replenish the days evap.  Temps are nice, the low is 72ish and high around 78/79.  I've been monitoring the tubs back and fourth, both hold right around 94-95h during the day and climb to around 96 at night.  The smaller mini(ex mono Cinct tub) needs bigger holes so it rises to 97.  I haven't been monitoring the Cubes(APE), other than surface conditions and an occasional tilt of the tub to make sure no excess water on the surface.  I can say right off the bat, I should of went and bought tubs with snap lids, would of saved me the trouble of the DUB so early on and the PITA it can be to get back on the top of the other one.  Anyway, I'm over here complaining just to complain, rough morning, LIFE(rollercoaster) happens, but I did get some other news that was Amazing(non related) so HEY... take the good with the bad sometimes.

The small Zip Tubs are colonized and have been since yesterday.  I'm going to let them be for a day or two longer, one tub needs it in a few spots, the other is GTG.  I'm in no rush, and I'll be putting these small ones in a shoebox for pinning, and probably unsnap the lid, and then flip the lid to finish.  All for the sake of growing a different way... TOO much FUN(gi).

Must be a Stone formation, Apparently Cincts

can produce stones... It's coming directly out of an

Oat seed and has been present for at least 3 days or So.

Growing slow, if it were Trich, it would travel VERY(trich can take over an AGAR plate in 3.5-4 Days) quickly.  I'm

still not convinced...

One is fully Colonized, the other needs a little more

Just another update on what I'm playin' with on a Saturday Morning.  The Cinct tub is a BUST... it's not Cinct and looks to be a Cube or maybe Natalensis(doubtful).  The gills look a bit different than I've seen(the reason I even suspect NAT) with Cubes, but could be just a variation.  I'm going to make a few Prints to see if they match other Cube prints I have.  At this point, fast colonizer, fast Pinner, and fairly fast fruiter.  Faster than PANS, slightly higher Spawn ratio, but not enough to matter that much.  Overall, Stunned, if ya'll suspect you know what this IS... by all means... PLEASE speak up.  Movin' ON...

The two bigger PAN trays are finally showing a few PINS here and there, they are Super tiny(pics makes them look big since Macro shot, but I assure you they are really small) and definitely don't look like the Cinct(Cube) tub.  So this "strain", unknowing as well, 7 Full Days to PINS, or beginning of Day 8.  Sounds right for Copes, but I have NO expectations at this point or the confidence of someone else's "organizational" skills.  I can tell you from looking at them... DIFFERENT IS GOOD!

The APE tub is pinning all over the Place, lookin' SEXY with those little snowmen popping up.  I've been also playing with APE on AGAR and have some wonderful genetics for safe keeping or an AGAR to grain Drop.  Who knows, I still need to finish up the original syringe SO... Options.... Keep em' Open.

Alright everyone, just another Day in the Life of a Mush Cultivator.  The "Cinct" Tub is definitely a Cube of some sort... bummer since I'm growing PE(exotic Cubes) and PANS lately, but.. ALL good another syringe replacement and a new strain to put back.  I printed 4 caps last night, there is NO doubt at this point she's a Cube through and through.  NEXT!

I'm Really excited for this APE Dub, she(I call stuff "SHE"... not a HE person) is looking OH SO BEAutiful.  I have some other Albino's coming UP so stay tuned, but APE is my favorite PE at this point.  I have a TAT variation(or variations) that look amazing, but not first hand experience.  It's going to be a wonderful Fall/Winter.

The Pan trays, they look good and healthy, still pinning and tiny little suckers.  These look right to me, but again, I'm not going to count my chickens BEFORE they Hatch.  I can tell you I've grown them years ago(maybe 3 or 4, I'm old, maybe 5 yrs) and they had these same small and skinny pins(don't believe the macro shots they are dinky little things).  Both trays have pins so patience at this point.  I have a good feeling about this one for some reason.

The babies of the tribe, ONE ZIP tray didn't make the cut, I think it was just too wet and me new to straw, It is what it is.  It had a tiny bit of what looked to be mold(took a Q tip and verified), So outside to my straw pile, SEE what happens.. Fuggit.

Hope everyone had a good weekend, since I'm out of Oat spawn, it's time to make some more(too many genetics... NOT enough time  ).  I'm prepping these for when I go out of town next month so they can colonize while I'm away(manure mix).  Hopefully right before I leave would be perfect timing.  All is well with the PAN and APE tubs, the APE is getting some fatties goin' on, but with PE... Patience is the Key.  So far the skinny PAN pins look right, we will find out in a few days, but DEF not Cubes without a doubt.  The Cube "Cinct" tub just plowed through a quick flush of just over 30g.  There are still a few finishing up so maybe 35(ish).  Not that it matters... other than THEY'RE NOT CINCTS!!  Ok... I feel better Already.   :meditate:

Happy Monday to all the Myconauts out there... I always enjoy waking up to check on the progress of my projects.  Alright, so the two PAN trays are doing well, still shooting out PINS every day.  I don't see any issues with them, healthy looking from observing them in pictures and up close and personal.  I couldn't be happier with the temps, it's 730am here PST and I'm at 75.7F and 95%H(just came up from 92%H from the morning Exposure(97%H when I woke up, typical Humidity after Night Cycle).  .

P1100510.JPG

P1100511.JPG

P1100512.JPG

The APE tub I noticed last night had some slight bruising on a few caps and has plenty of Pins to work with so it's time to leave her be on the misting.  The sub has no shrinkage at this point with the daily morning misting(sometimes 1 more misting if it's over 100F outside and reaches 81F or so up against the Window).    The tub has weight to it so there is plenty of Moisture to draw from, I noticed yesterday the surface doesn't hold tiny beads well so it's perfect time to start using the built up moisture in the Sub.  I will bottom water if needs be with these PE.  Either way, I'll leave em' Alone for awhile, Normally, I wouldn't Mist this long(or much with REG Cubes), but IME... PE is a Water Robbing mushroom, they can really drink it up.  I like to push the envelope on moisture, then let it RIDE.

Alright, the Cube tub has a few fruits in there, but not much to Report... and a few new Pins happening.  I gave the tub a nice misting after the first flush and once or twice a day Exposure.

The little tub is doing good and poked through the casing faster than it's Siblings(two bigger trays).  Same story, 1 misting in the morning with Exposure, and One Exchange around Noon, that's it.

The PAN trays are doing well, springing up new PINS on the Daily.  Nothing from the little tray of Straw/Manure, but it's only been 4 days since Casing/Fruiting(Day 7.5-8 for bigger Trays).

Whaddup ya'll, chuggin' right along... Misted up the PAN trays today while I was dropping the Humidity this morning from 97 -92.  Yesterday the humidity wouldn't climb up from 91% (slowly rises all day) so I knew it was time to give em' a spritz.  Humidity builds up during night cycle so it takes a few minutes to get her down to 90(ish) Humidity(Once cleared of night time H, I can take the lid off and it will immediately drop so that's where I want it).  I'm using my Martha gauge since it won't be up and running until next month.  Also misted up the APE tub, I don't want the fruits to stall out from lack of moisture and I gave it about a day to clear up the fuzzy feet(for the most part).  It's a fine line this time of year, 30%H(Sometimes under, but 30 is consistent), not to mention hotter temps and Trich season.  I buy in bulk and get manure for free so I don't give AF if I Trich out here and there.  The nature of the beast and it's the risk we take gambling on SUBS(i don't normally experience trich in cooler climates unless I went to crazy on misting and didn't compensate with Airflow for a little while to evap off).   The single Zip tub is going good, should see PINs tomorrow or sometime this Weekend.  All the best Mushkateers.

You see how the Temperature Outside nearly

matches the inside, this is what you want.  If your

inside temp is 2 degrees above, could use some adjusting

of Airflow.  In a little while, the sub temp will be slightly above the outside,

this is perfect.  My house is currently 75F... the window adds a few degrees(the PANS love it).  The highest

I've seen up against the window is(peak of the day when it's over 100F outside and around 77) 81F (27C).

Just another Friday of Hot weather, Low humidity, and making it happen.  I usually don't grow too much in the Summer, but I have the Cannabis Tent down, and the Martha so I'm just playin' around with new(or newer) genetics really figuring out what's WHAT.  Also, trying out different ways of cultivating, I like the Dub Tub, but in this climate at this moment it's work to keep her balanced.  The APE is now just drying out for a day and a half or two, I put the mist bottle AWAY, I can get carried away at times.

I'm giving the PAN trays more AIR only for the next 2 - 2.5 days, this should finish up these tall lanky suckers.  I also loosened the Poly on the lower holes and I'm bouncing the H from 92(ish) to 85 all day today and tomorrow.  It's time to develop these Caps and let nature do it's thing.  I misted the PANS for the last time this morning while bouncing the Humidity back and forth so it's almost evaporated off the fruits already.  GOING for tons of AIR today for Both the PANS and APE.  The APE is showing cold feet again, so ALL AIR until Harvest(Probably Saturday night or Sunday morning).  I'm still learning and perfecting APE, she's a bit sensitive, but Not an issue and yield is of no concern at this point(fat bowling pins will be givers anyway).

Hey... it's August 1st, DAMN this Summer is flyin' right on By.  So I harvested the APE tub yesterday, nice and clean fruits came out to 34.6G cracker dry.  These suckers just STINK when you are harvesting/Drying(stunk up my Garage for quite awhile where the dehydrator is).  Decent haul, but could of went better NO doubt.  So it's rough this time of year with Dry heat/humidity so I switched the Sub over to a snap lid tray and cased it for the 2nd flush(Peat/Verm/Cal Carb).  I should of done this in the beginning, but I wanted to make sure I was able to get a flush or two before my trip.  Once I get back, everything is firing back up(Martha, edibles, etc...) for upcoming Fall/Winter projects.  All in all, APE mushrooms are crazy blue and scary looking(in a beautiful way).

The PAN trays, well one is going great and the other is OUTside.  I stripped what I could of fruits(immature) and they are drying, but Trich is a BIA this time of year.  In other news, the Mini Zip tub is starting to show some early pinning knots, should show actual pins tonight, or DEF tomorrow morning.

I sometimes forget how tough it is this time of year to grow, and I should of taken a break, but I've had a rough go with wrong genetics(lately and in the past), mislabeled syringes, contaminated syringes, that at this point, I'm just trying to confirm what I HAVE... or what I don't.  I already knew the APE was good from a small test tray, but Cinct is a BUST(Cube) and Trich has already taken two trays, pretty sure the PAN tray was just too wet under that casing.  It started underneath in the SUB and popped it's head up through the casing so not a casing problem.  All good, maybe she throws out some outdoor FREEbies.

I did shoot up some Jars the other day(7.27.21) with a PAN Florida, TAT Smurf, and TAT/Melmac. Always excited to try something new and it's a great time for these CRAZY varieties.  I have a few more, but I don't want to blow my wad of everything... JUST yet!

Hey guys, just  a quick update, the PAN tray has a few pins and fruits going, but I may have spotted the MEAN green on her.  The little mini Zip tub has small pins going on, but very tiny.

The APE tub that I cased(for 2nd flush) has been poking through for a few days now every day a little here and a little there.  I don't see any issues with this Tub.

New spawn, I shook the Estero PAN of Oats in 3 complete days and the TAT Smurf in 5.  Pretty typical timeframes for both.  The TAT/Melmac... or (aka) Pearly Gates, is definitely typical slow PE on Oats.  The APE was 18 complete Days and spawned Day 19.  No worries, I'm never in a hurry with PE. Oh, I almost forgot, I did end up with 4.2g of small fruits and aborts from the PAN tub or Tubs.  Not a winner or anything, but isn't a complete Loss either.

<Random thought>  The PAN Florida is shredding through these Oats faster than the PAN's currently going.  It's Day 7 and one of the jars will be finished by Day 9 or 10 it looks like(Day 12 for current Pans).

Last picture, I think it's mycelium(thoroughly looking at it), but I will

keep an eye on that area(just in case). Honestly, I just want a few prints

to put back and confirm, but if not, I have multiple plates just in case.

Hey folks, I just had a few random thoughts and or Data to share.  I noticed right off the bat that you can lightly mist the PINS(Copes) when they are young, it's no problem, but once they are established, DON'T mist them.  It will only delay them, and may just singe the caps from developing and ACID RAIN there asses, it's NO bueno.  You will end up with some green undeveloped caps and it's ALL over from there(you might as well pull them, they go limp and it's a WRAP).  I get a little overzealous at times with misting, but to be truthful, this is all for the sake of science so I'm not worried about fuggin shit up.  I've only grown Copes once prior years ago, and now that I really think about it, I remember kind of neglecting them and they do(or did) better than aborting because I'm a Misting MANIAC.  Anyway, it's easy to hide or shield the truth, I'm not like that, I want to get more folks excited about grown PANS... I LOVE my Cubies don't get me wrong, but YOU will fall in love with these I guarantee you.  Long story shortened, I have 4.2g of aborts(not all aborted, but most did) and early fruits I had to pull from the Trich Tray.  LESSON learned, I currently have better CAP formation than I ever did with the first flush, Word to the WISE, LEAVE em' alone(self reflection) and add Air once you have fat PINS(morning exchange drops Humid to 75-80% then I let it Rise just about 90% or slightly higher, then I just do half way lid fans on one side of the tub, maybe 3-4 times(real quick), and back to 84ish percent(let it Rise again).

Not much to report on the APE tub, still just mycelium poking out here and there in the Peat based casing.  Today is day 5ish so we will see when the PINS arrive.

The baby of the tribe, getting more PINS every day and I'm not misting AT ALL.  I am on restriction from the bottle.
