Tell me about it! I've had to learn how to rangle in plants in a DWC system. When I was new to hydro I would let them get too big, not knowing how fast they would grow or how big they would get, especially in such a short period of time. Mind you I rock 4 plants per 4X4 so I already need to get my plants pretty big but I would still over shoot it, it's very easy to do with DWC. After I put a fully rooted clone in one of my systems I let them veg for absolutely no more than 14 days or they will be way too big. But most strains are closer to 10 days, yes only 10 days of veg in a system like this and I'll have turned a fully rooted clone into a plant ready to completely fill out a 2X2 ft space. Granted, for me a "fully rooted clone" is probably a bit more developed than what most people would consider to be one. I root in an aero-cloner (which is the shit btw) and I like to have roots that dangle about 6 inches from a plant that is about 5-6 inches, so nothing huge but probably a little bigger than what most would call a "clone." When I grew in soil, it was always a minimum of 4 weeks of veg, depending on how big I needed to get the plants, sometimes much longer than that. So at first I figured, "let's try 3 weeks of veg, I bet it being hydro will shave off a week of veg time." Boy was I underestimating what DWC could do, 21 days of veg and the plants would overtake the room during their stretch period. I had to trash that first grow, it sucked but I learned the power of hydro lol. Long story short, I've grown hydro ever since. Except in rare cases like sprouting seeds, or growing outdoor, I don't ever grow soil anymore. I just love hydro lol
